In other words,this film is a surreal ride.

This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

This remake is surprisingly well executed (excuse the pun)! The suspense builds in a slick and stylish fashion and all the actors playing their parts brilliantly (even the weird little hillbilly old man- this performance is probably very accurate in fact, haha).The director builds hatred in the viewer against the rapists by the prolonged scenes of sexual injustice. This makes the revenge all the more satisfying and the way the violence is carried out is super entertaining. The director uses the same technique of anticipation and gratification in ISOYG 2 (which is also a decent watch) but in that film there is pointless dialogue to pad the film out when it really doesn't need it. In This classic remake however, every moment is golden and necessary. Top marks to the maker who clearly understood the genre and how to do it right, avoiding the trap of diluting the film through moral and ethical cliché. Lets not talk about the third ISOYG as by then he seems to have moved away from all that made this one great. What was he thinking?! So much credit for this though, superb.

There are very few horror movies that have made me squirm or uncomfortable, but this, a remake who's original is just as nasty, is one of them that did. A lady who goes to a secluded cabin to write her latest novel is rudely interrupted by a trio of rednecks who viciously rape her. After she licks her wounds and heals, she sets out for revenge and gets it. In extremely graphics ways. One unfortunately redneck is castrated and then has his eyes pecked out by birds. The other two meet their end in equally horrible but justified ways. Definitely not a movie for the squeamish

I know many reviews are complaining about the torture part, but to heck with it, they tortured her as well and damn her vengeance was so satisfying.When she caught Johnny I was thinking "She should have cut his wiener off" and when I saw him naked, I thought "Holy fvck..." paused for a moment then she grabbed that big scissors and I completely lost it, she was so freaking awesome... Till she put it in his mouth... literally almost threw up, dammit girl that was some badass sh*t. Again, best vengeance movie ever, they deserved all the punishment, even Matthew, disabled or not, he knew what he was doing when he chocked her. 10/10

The beginning is way to long and slow, for almost an hour it's nothing but talk and rape.Then came the part I was watching this movie for and man it was amazing.The way she finds a way to kill every rapist in an original way is very good! If the start wasn't so slow and the killing would have been a bigger and longer part of the movie, I would have given it an 8/10!It's not that amazing but I recommend you watch it just for the amazing torture scene's
