The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

I really liked this series, IMHO it was better than X-files itself. I liked the fact that the main character (Cap. Paul Turner)was near death, and depended on the very organization that he was trying to destroy to keep himself alive. Also the acting of Dr. Sidney MacMillan is great, trying to help her boyfriend but without the exaggerated excepticism of Dr Scully on Xfiles. But it was transmitted to late here in Venezuela (near midnight) and I was just a kid by the time, so I never watched the end of it.Now I'm looking for the complete season on torrent links but I haven't found it :-/ Anyone knows where it is? thanks =)

Yeah, that's right, I said it. Big deal, vanna fight about it? As one of the few hardcore sci-fi geeks who DIDN'T like the X-Files, Strange World really filled in that gap. Gordon took what he learned at X-Files and made it better. No more far-fetched stories that were here today, gone tomorrow. No more ridiculously-formulaic story structure (FBI agents investigate phenomena, stop threat, then go back to bureau and wait to investigate again). In Strange World, we got a man constantly haunted by his disease and his dependencies, as well as the group who's after him. He's a more down-to-earth character, dealing with more down-to-earth sci-fi mysteries that are more interesting because they feel more real, not some ridiculous story about vampires or computer vixens or people who can control the weather. Hopefully, it will be on DVD soon, and you can all see for yourself that talk about Strange World.

This show is an interesting take on the classic sci-fi conspiracy tv show. the character of Paul Turner played by Tim Guinee is very well played. Because the show was/is written by the "X-files" gang it would have been very easy for Guinee to turn Turner into a Mulder-like character,(Mulder and Turner are written virtually the same) however Guinee saves his character and makes him much more realistic. Guinee turns his character into a man searching for a way to avoid being trapped between to organizations who are keeping the truth from him instead of into a raving maniac who sees little green men in the bushes.(sorry Mr.Duchovny) All in all this show is far better than I even dreamed it could've been, why it was cancelled to begin with is a mystery to me but now that it's back it's great. Oh and by the way it's on The Sci-Fi channel, you'll have to check your listings though.

My parents and I saw an advertisement for this t.v. show on SciFi. I vaguely remembered it airing a few years ago on broadcast. They showed about two or three episodes, then shelved it. Apparently, SciFi is picking it up and making new episodes, or just airing the previously filmed ones. Either way, it is a very interesting show. I am also an avid fan of the X-Files, so I am very familiar with the content and the premise. If you like action, drama, and a little bit of the paranormal, tune in to SciFi on Friday nights at eight!
