A brilliant film that helped define a genre

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

Neighbours is the perfect escapism from dull, stressful reality. The plots are interesting and varied, not too protracted, and the acting is of a high quality. All those who look down their noses at soaps take note, this series has been going nearly 30 years.Paul Robinson is the perfect bad boy and delightful to watch; Chris is someone you just want to hug, you're desperate for a; Vanessa and Lucas to get together, and b; Karl and Susan to get BACK together, and you just wish somewhere like Harold's or Charlie's actually existed.All in all, the perfect mix of humour, good meaty plots, and escapism.Long may it reign!

I first started watching Neighbours when I was 12 in 2005 or 2006. It was so much better then because the actors and characters were the right ones to be on the set and everything was picture perfect! Loved the old Theme song and loved them over and over again. But then, when I was 14 in 2009, the characters were killed off the show and even the actors which made it into a mess. The neighbors crew got people that haven't a clue of acting and are staying there which they should've been gone long ago! I first started watching Neighbours when I was 12 in 2005 or 2006. I'm not blaming on the present actors but I'm blaming the writers for mocking this up. I know it's nice to have a change around and not get sick of the old characters but I'm not that sort of person. I would love if the writers got on their bikes and make it better again.

Neighbours is a fantastic situation comedy, huge in all areas, such as cast, episodes and laughs. Neighbours was so real it felt as if you were sitting next to the regular barflys of the most endearing watering hole in TV history.Neighbours is a sitcom that deserves to be remembered as a classic. Hopefully, in twenty years from now, it will still be doing the rounds on cable TV. Only time will tell.The characters are so well-rounded that the joy comes simply from watching them interact. As far as I can remember almost every episode of Neighbours ended with someone smiling or laughing, and it's that sense of warmth that is so rare in television, that it makes Neighbours stand tall amongst any competitor, then OR now. I feel wholly justified in calling Neighbours the best program ever made. It's just that good.

Does anybody know how far behind Australia the UK's showing of neighbours is? If you go to www.neighbours.com, there is a massive difference between the plots and I am curious to find out how far ahead in time the Australians are... (or how far behind we are!)I know what we English have to look forward to, but how long must we wait?!?! The future of Neighbours looks very strange but very cool(!) to me and I want to know how long I'll be waiting to see it!
