Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
... View MoreWhile it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
... View MoreWhile it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
... View MoreThrough painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
... View MoreLove the details in this show and the conflicts between American (or LA) and British culture here. Very fun and yet in-depth show!
... View More'Episodes' is one of those shows that you expect to be bad on appearances, but when you watch it, it completely smashes any misconception you may have had to pieces. The mixture of British and American culture and humour means it's appealing to British and American audiences, with something for everyone to find funny no matter what your sense of humour. The characters are realistic, relatable and individual and benefit from being played by a very talented cast and the script writing is witty and clever, poking fun at real life situations, Hollywood and the TV industry in a way that is relatable and funny to everyone. Matt Le Blanc has been too long associated with the failure of 'Joey', but in 'Episodes' he proves that he's an incredibly strong and talented actor that brings tonnes of personality to his character Matt (who is a fictionalised version of himself). Tamsin Greig (Beverley) and Stephen Mangan (Sean) are also fantastic leads that have great chemistry with each other and Matt, whilst Kathleen Rose Perkins (Carol) is an excellent addition to the cast that is a very unique and quirky character. The characters are definitely a strong point of the show as are their relationships with each other. Beverley and Sean very much feel like a real married couple that are by no means perfect but are in love and devoted to each other, they naturally bounce off one another and are extremely funny together; Beverley and Matt's bickering is comical whilst Sean and Matt's friendship is fun to watch and Carol and Beverley's friendship is endearing and it's so great to see such polar opposites navigating themselves in such a profound friendship. Even the more minor characters serve a purpose and are unique. Though the story-lines are hardly original or intelligent, that's to be expected with any sit-com and doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the show. There's enough drama and laughter to keep viewers entertained and the light-hearted nature of the show makes for easy watching. I love that the show pokes fun at the inherently flawed TV industry and plays on Hollywood stereotypes. A lot of the humour lies in Sean and Beverley, who are incredibly "normal" and very British, trying to navigate themselves in the completely alien L.A/Hollywood culture whilst simultaneously detesting it. What 'Episodes' does that many other shows generally tend not to, is portray life in a very real and organic way. None of the characters are perfect and despite the fact that they're all living in L.A and rich/successful, their lives are far from perfect and just like the rest of us, they're all taking each day as it comes and navigating through life's highs and lows. Overall, 'Episodes' is a good but not great show. It's perfect for some light comedic relief on a Sunday night when you just want cheering up. Although, I wouldn't necessarily class it as laugh out loud funny, it will certainly give you a titter and make you smile.
... View MoreMarried British couple, Beverly (Tamsin Greig) and Sean Lincoln (Stephen Mangan), are showrunners to a hit BAFTA-winning TV show, Lyman's Boys. Hollywood network president Merc Lapidus (John Pankow) lures them over to America to adapt their show. Only they find their vision being corrupted at every turn. Carol Rance (Kathleen Rose Perkins) is Merc's long-suffering subordinate and mistress. They are forced to cast self-obsessed Friends actor Matt LeBlanc. Sexy co-star Morning Randolph (Mircea Monroe) has an unknowable age.Matt LeBlanc is actually funny. The cast is great. Everybody is funny. The premise of a Hollywood show is a good starting point. The fact that the group of characters outlasted the fictional show is a good sign about the chemistry. Only Morning doesn't have the connections. She's an one joke character. The weird friendships of the four main characters are at the heart of the show. They are fun, charming, and biting. I'm happy for Matt's success which shows that he's more than an one-trick pony.
... View MoreJust finished watching this all wonderful show for the second time and It just keep getting better. Everything about this show is just perfect , from the great writing to the amazing cast, this show is just a delight without taking itself too seriously. It's pretty shocking that they hardly won any TV awards, hopefully this year they will receive the respect they deserve as season 5 was truly remarkable.
