It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

One because you can't give zero stars. One for the decent production value; there's some money put into it, and military wears some cool-looking non-UCP uniforms. If you get annoyed by the military in every single show wearing ACU's with mandarin collars raised, that show is for you.One for really dark humor and cheap writing which I find truly enjoyable; for example, do you know what is going to happened when you try to burn nearly seven thousand bodies at once piled up and dosed with a gasoline? Fully clothed, layered with few broken pallets here and there? Average Canadian weights 177 lbs, multiplied by dead count, that's nearly 562 metric tons of human flesh, fat and body liquids "burning" in an open air. if you like that kind of nerdy black humor this show is for you.One for killing kids like annoying flies; they die in car accidents, they got eaten by the tiger, etc. If you don't like how kids are brought up these days, this show is for you.One for electrified fence and a minefield surrounding town populated mostly by children at that point. Those Canucks, they don't f#$%k around with the little ones. If you believe in the old-school upbringing where the kids obey clearly stated rules and do not cross lines, that show is for you.One for kids that seemed not moved at all by the fact that all their relatives above the age of 22 just died. The atmosphere in the town, when the last adult died already, looks quite festive; maybe slightly disorganized but overall rather joyful. No drama, no depression, no tears. Impressive. I was more upset when my turtle got eaten by my dog than some fo those children by the deaths of their parents in front of their eyes. If you don't like good character development that show is for you.One for the black guy who recites his lines with less emphasis than Siri. If you don't like good acting or semi-decent acting, this show is for you. This show probably deserves more, possibly full ten, but unfortunately, I stopped watching after the third episode, too much fun for me.

I never write reviews on here, but this is an exception at how utterly boring this series is. It has no gripping, edge of your seat moments that it could have. The story line and plot is extremely mediocre. The whole premise of people dying after the age of 22 was intriguing but it was done in the worst way possible. A group of friends and I could write a better script. It's unfortunate, and the acting is terrible.

Was this really written by professionals. There are so many plot holes. Things the characters do don't make sense most of the time. Potentially a spoiler for Season 2 so if you don't want to know anything stop reading now. OK so how does a town run out of food and the people are on the verge of starving in 54 days. I mean really? This is a Canadian series, but apparently no one in the town knows how to hunt for food. Not one thing is said about water, but food is running out. I mean really who wrote this crap.

On the good side, there is a lot of solid acting in this, and the cast should be almost universally proud of their performances. This should definitely go in the demo reels, and McCurdy is probably one of the biggest surprises considering that prior to this she was known best for Sam on iCarly. However, unless you are really fans of someone involved don't even bring this up.There's just nothing to really make this show worth watching past the acting. The science never bothers to descend into reality, with vaccines being of the practically instantaneous sort (they are able to save a girl with literally an hour left to live), devices capable of determining if someone has been inoculated or not, and the virus itself causes someone to die once they hit 22 years old to the literal second with no warm up or anything. It's almost like they go out of their way to say that "This is just a show!" and it gets annoying after a bit.My personal favorite has to be the Mennonite kid that has a full beard (a foot-long and bushy) because...Amish.The tech also seems to be more plot-driven than anything else: There's no fear that the kids will record anything using their smartphones (and every kid has one) yet they work even with the cell towers being jammed. If you were a kid with no responsibility and your phones worked, there would be no end to the videos being tossed onto the Internet.Worse yet is that the kids seem almost wanting to kill themselves. This is the first rural community I've seen with just two farming families and yet neither is exactly over-run by visitors (the Mennonites have no problem killing intruders (yeah, the MENNONITES!) and the other is just ignored) even allowing that it's close to winter. Worse, while the government is trying to kill everyone when a scientist pops up trying to help save lives he has to deal with more distrust than is warranted and one of the kids is actively trying to kill him. These are also the worst conspiracy people ever. When the Minister and the Obligatory Evil Pharmaceutical company are told that someone has evidence of their attempted massacre, they brush him off. Worse, when they are caught the OEPC actually goes ahead and sends their virus to the general population six months after the fact, apparently figuring no one would put it together.Outside of the acting there is nothing to recommend this series. Just avoid it at all costs!
