I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Like any show, there are some frustrating points in the show and, strangely, the main character, Tandy, can be annoying, but stick with it. Tandy has some good parts and parts you wouldn't want to re-watch, however, the other characters make up for this. Kristen Schaal is, in my opinion, what makes this show. Sometimes her lines are funny, but even when they aren't, she has a great knack of delivering them so that they make me laugh just as much as any other line. Not only with her recognisable voice (Louise, Bob's Burgers), but her physical comedy really deliver to help make the show what it is. The other characters Melissa, Todd, Gail and Erika definitely help liven up the mix. If Tandy could change, not just for a couple of episodes, I think this would certainly help improve the show, but, for now, Kristen Schaal will keep me laughing.

A virus has killed every animal. Phil Tandy Miller (Will Forte) is the last man on Earth. He has painted on signs pointing to his hometown of Tucson. He is surprised to find other survivors. First, there is the equally wacky Carol Pilbasian (Kristen Schaal) who forces him to agree to a marriage. Then there is the sexy Melissa Chartres (January Jones), friendly Todd Rodriguez (Mel Rodriguez), and others. This started with such an unique premise for network TV. Forte does a great job being the ridiculous fool in this unusual apocalyptic comedy. Schaal is equal to his craziness and Jones has a dash of coldness to her beauty. The pilot episode suggests something completely different but also something completely impossible. I didn't think that a network TV show can be an one-man show and it turns out that it isn't. At some point, each additional character has diminishing return and the comedy flattens out. What started out as innovative turns into simply wacky. In the end, this is something different, something interesting, and some diminishing comedy. It's cancelled after 4 seasons which is just as well.
