It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

As a kid I enjoyed watching the lion king movies,I fell in love with the franchise and was hyped when I heard about the release of the lion guard,But after I sat down to watch this 44 minute movie,I couldn't help but stare at my TV shocked at what I saw,how did this!THIS!Com out of Disney!A studio that presented us with astonishing movies such as Frzoen,Snow white,Zootopia,Brave,Robin hood,Tarzan,I could go on for days, get the idea to create this abomination?!Were they desperate for money?!Did they sit down on their couch and watch the lion king going,"I wanna make a show out of that"and BAM?!This happened?!The creators of the original movies poured their hearts into their projects and the final product was breathtaking to watch in action,we loved these movies and surely we wish for our kids to feel the same way about them as we do!But yet, this is what Disney offers are kids,Brain junk food? Before I bore you to death,I'll cut to the Chase why this movie is a big waste of time.1)The animation is lazy.Adobe flash animation?Really? The characters look strange in this type of animation style, the only one who looks good is Nala,(Lets face it she looks pretty no matter how you animate her)Besides that, the walk cycles are lazy,it's like the writers didn't feel like making a full walk cycle so they just made four frames and hoped no one would notice.Their feet look like little nubs, they barely look like their walking on the ground! Not to mention the design of the characters are just bad...People who thought simba from the lion king 2 looks bad, prepare to feast your eyes on his newest design,Compared to his second one, this Disney junior art style will make the second movie simba look like a hot fashion model that all the girls faint over.not to mention Zuri and Tifu are just copies of Kiara except with hair tufts.Overall,The animators didn't feel like making this movie and it shows,BAD!2)what happened to KiaraKiara was the protagonist in the second lion king movie,She was a adventurous cub who wanted to explore the pride lands without her father being overprotective of her.She hated the thought or mention of becoming queen,Her outer appearance was changed as well,She originally had pale orange fur, dark purple nose, light Amber eyes and a cream muzzle, belly, chest and paws. Now take all those things I previously listed about Kiara and throw it all away because now she's a pale tan color(like all the other lionesses)she has a smug, bratty, attitude and is a daddy's girl who tattletales on anyone who breaks the rules,She likes to brag that she is future queen,She is the opposite of what her original counterpart was like!I mean,Cmon Disney! You don't just take a classic character that everyone loved and then switch everything about them! Its like changing Elsa from ice to fire and making her outgoing and playful like Anna,Just..NO!3)cliche charactersWhere do I start?Nuremous characters are so stereotypical! You have the protagonist(Kion's)Bsst friend, who is carefree,Rebellious,And only likes to have fun.The tom girl who is all big and bad and stronger than the guys and possibly the main characters love interest. The fat guy with a heart of gold,And the smart nerd who knows everything and is an introvert.I've seen their personalities in so many movies,Their old,Forgettable,Just dull characters. It clearly shows the writers out no thought in these characters,They just said let's make so and so,And don't take their time trying to make them special,And coming from a company who has created characters like Mickey,Elsa,Woody,And many others,That is just plain sad.4)Is simba racist?!Wait, what?!What happened to the simba we grew up with in the original lion king?!Did Disney just wipe away his personality and made him some stuck up,Demanding father? Similar to the problem with Kiara,He just doesn't act the same.He acts like if your not a lion your nowhere as good as me,or your not worthy enough of being in the pride lands and stuff like that,It's just wrong! And to make him act this way in a children's show?!I know little ones won't understand this but parents will,This is something our children should not be introduced to,And I am ashamed Disney made that apart of his character.5)What about the Lion King 2?This is my last reason,Where does the lion king 2 fit into this time line? Some events just don't add up correctly,What about Kovu? And the outsiders?Where was Kion no his guard in the second movie? When was Kion born?these are questions fans of TLK ask and their never get explanations,Maybe in the future we will get one but for now,Things in this African world just aren't making sense. In conclusion, this movie was flawed in many ways,By changing characters,Forgettable characters,Predictable villains,And a dumb story line that everyone could guess what was going to happen half way in the movie.Overall,Awful movie,Before you show this to your kids,Shwo them the original lion king, and once they understand the originals,Then show them this crap,It's a waste of brain cells,And time.

I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this but this movie is just awful I love that they decided to make a next lion king but this just ruined the whole point in lion king 1 and 2 my reason for saying that is cause simba don't have a son he have a daughter and that was the ending in lion king 1 now in lion king 2 simba daughter grew up and got with kovu an outsider that was the end of it but now they release this as simba have a son no that certainly messed up the whole movie series it would of been better if kion was kiara and kovu son then it would of made a'lot of sense as "lion king 3 return of the roar" what also messed it up was (spoiler alert) i saw a episode that kion used the roar and sent zira and the other lions flying to the outlands when in lion king 2 simba was the one who banished them so this new movie is just bullshit (sorry for my language and if my paragraph isn't that good)

This series is an absolute abomination. Disney totally ruined their best movie/franchise by making this awful series with cheap animation, horrible voice acting, no-sense my-little-pony-themes and plots and more discontinuities with the main movie than the X-Men movies. The Lion King is by far my favorite movie and Simba is my favorite Disney character. They have both been disrespected and ruined by this no-sense cartoon. This is not The Lion King. The characters from previous movies are completely OOC or disrespected or doing pretty much nothing for all the episodes, the new characters are stereotypathed annoying children- cliché, there is not even half of the epicness from the original movie. Disney forgot that what made The Lion King so successful and beloved is the epic tone of the story and the characters. This is cheap-animation, not worthy anyone's time.

This movie is definitely aimed towards a younger audience – I suppose the Disney Junior should have been a big hint but I was still hopeful. Many things are different and inaccurate compared to the first 2 films and the characters are irritating and flat.First off, the movie is incredible short. Which is probably a good thing because it was incredibly bad but maybe a longer film could have given it some redeeming qualities.By far my biggest issue is with how they presented Kiara. Maybe I watched a completely different Lion King 2 but she was always striving to be more than just a princess and discover who she was. I always saw her as the opposite of younger Simba – who just couldn't wait to be king – where she wanted to be everything but a princess and be more than just a princess. Within the first minute she's smug about training to be queen where before I feel like she would have been more whiny and sulky about it. At some point in the middle Simba states "Kion you need to take your responsibilities seriously as Kiara takes hers" and I'm just no. Kiara doesn't want to be a freakin' princess. I related to her character a lot when the movie just came out and Lion King 2 will always hold a special place in my heart and I hate that they messed with her character so much.Another big thing for me was Mufasa popping out of the clouds for a little chit chat. I always took his appearances after his death to be more metaphorical and the characters remembering what was said to them previously. But maybe I'm wrong and maybe Cloud Mufasa is lonely and just wants to chat with his grandson.Next up: messing with Scar's story. I thought him being such a prick was just usual sibling rivalry (plus maybe some mental health issues SINCE HIS PARENTS NAMED HIM SCAR) and jealousy over his brother getting to rule the pride lands. I'm sure there could be much more to this back story and maybe it's covered in countless books already. I've read a few reviews where people have said Scar would be banished from the Pride Lands entirely for the act he did when he was leader of the Lion Guard but since he lost his power for using it for evil I feel like Mufasa would have been smug and confident enough to see that Scar was no longer a threat and probably even rub it in from time to time and just let him stay. While we are talking about Scar let's talk about the hyenas. They have been recreated somewhat into looking more cutesy I feel – rounder, funnier looking. They are dumber than anything and not as conniving as their predecessors. Scar's hyenas were at least a little bit intimidating and scary at times but these guys were just lame. I have some thoughts about them still being banned from the pride lands and that they're starving and such but we don't really need to go into Lion King Politics. There's a new Hakuna Matata – Zuka Zuuma or something like that. I believe it translates to "YOLO" as the irritating honey badger shouts it every time he does something that may get him killed. He is by far the most irritating character but he is designed for small children and I guess acts like one to. Kiara had a really snooty friend who flipped over breaking a claw and I'm glad she was only around for one scene. The songs are kind of cute but that's about it.Just don't watch this. I regret buying it and I should have just assumed it would be as bad as Lion King 1 ½. This movie is so problematic with everything set up in the first two films it's just not worth it (plus Rob Lowe as Simba was a terrible choice oh my god why).
