Good idea lost in the noise

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

This 2015 horror comedy stars Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, Joey Morgan and Sarah Dumont. This begins with a zombie killing 2 employees at a science research lab. We then meet pals, Ben (Sheridan), Carter (Miller) and Augie (Morgan) who are scouts going camping in the wilderness. Soon, they discover that the residents nearby are turning into zombies and fight against them with help of sexy, cocktail waitress, Denise (Dumont). David Koechner (Anchorman) and Cloris Leachman (Bad Santa) also appear. This is a pretty good zombie flick with creepy and hilarious moments featuring a decent cast & gruesome make-up effects. I recommend this if you're a fan of zombie flicks or horror in general.

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is a fast, fun zombie film that doesn't do anything new, but is pretty entertaining.The zombie effects and make-up were really well done, giving us some really bloody, freaky zombies to watch die. The visual effects were really well done, both practical and CGI, giving us some really cool kill scenes ranging from traditional headshot kills, to glass bottles to the head with blood pouring out of it, to makeshift hardware store kill machines. There was some inventive stuff in this film.The characters were fun and worked well together. All parts were acted well enough although they struggled to deliver some of the less-than-stellar lines at times. But each had their moments and I don't have any complaints about the 4 protagonists. The comedy was pretty good with a few laugh out loud moments. Some moments were chuckle worthy and others you may have given an internal giggle. There was a lot of gross sexual humor in terms of zombie genitalia and the likes so if you're easily offended, you probably won't like these moments a whole lot as the film isn't afraid to show anything and I can dig that.The sound effects and design were pretty well done, giving us the typical meaty, disgusting gore sound effects. There were some good music choices in here that made for cool or funny scenes. The film soundtrack itself was uninspired however.The cinematography was fine and so was the editing for the most part. There were some problems though. A trampoline scene that was edited to make them look like they were jumping the fence even though they clearly weren't getting distance (although this might've been done as weak visual comedy). Towards the end, the party strobe lights are almost epilepsy inducing and are a little distracting.Overall, it's another zombie film. It's gory, full of action and damn fun. Nowhere near as good as say, Shaun of the Dead, but it gets the job done and I recommend it. 6/10 good gory entertainment

I imagine that there is an audience out there for a movie like this - namely immature adolescents who are tickled by the mere mention or display of violent and sexual material. Older viewers like myself will probably find the movie a non stop display of desperation by the screenwriters and the director. It's possible to make a funny, gory and outrageous zombie movie - check out Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive", for example. But you have to be clever and imaginative, and this movie simply isn't for the most part. It all feels very labored and heavy handed. Another big problem is that all the characters - including the scouts - aren't all that likable or sympathetic. You won't care about them, and will wish that they'll all be killed quickly so that the movie will end early. The movie also has some telltale signs that it was severely cut down in the editing room, given a number of plot points feel rushed and/or incomplete. It's easy to see why this performed very dismally at the box office.

The title has explained about this film, that is a zombie comedy with a high school friends background. And for zombie running fans, this is a movie that must be seen because it has element of surprises and definitely not bad at all for the special effects. High school best friends, girls, strip club, zombies, armies, and party. Just enjoy the movie!
