Dance of the Dead Trailers

With Prom only hours away, the usual suspects of Cosa High (Cheerleaders, geeks, bad boys and the happy-go-lucky student council alike) are preoccupied with the annual rituals of teendom. On the night of the big dance when the dead unexpectedly rise to eat the living, polar opposite groups will be forced to unite in their final chance to save the town from the zombies.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

I liked the cinematography and that's what the extra star if for. Otherwise, a 6. The camera angles were well planned and executed and the lighting was well done, too. Yes, the story was hokey. There were some cuties in the cast.Spoiler alert in the next sentence. It was too bad the big bad ass guy got killed off, just leaving the nerds but then he comes back as a zombie bad ass and he is really something. But they dispose of him again and the movie continues and the find another powerful ally. But, for a zombie movie, it is not so bad. I am not a big fan of this kind of movie but I made it all the way through so there was something of a draw here.Best line of the movie, "Oh, send the cheerleader, that's a great idea'" It was said sarcastically and fit the scene very well. Second best line, said by that same cheerleader, "But I don't know how to shoot a machete." I might walk across the street to see this but not drive to town to see it. Some fun, lots of blood. A sleeper, waiting to be discovered.

It's time for the Senior Prom at Cosa High School, but unexpected guests are about to crash the party: the living dead kind, that is. As fate would have it, the only ones who are able to come to the rescue are the people who *aren't* able to go to the prom. These fall into familiar "types": the class clown, the geeks, the tough guy, the rockers, etc. With their gung-go coach leading the way, they go into battle against the zombies. This viewer wouldn't consider himself overtly impressed by this one. It's easy enough to take, but at best it generated some modest chuckles, no real belly laughs. It makes no attempt to hide its low budget, what with the hilarious way it situates a nuclear power plant right by a cemetery. What also helps is its level of energy and its consistent forward momentum. It sure doesn't have a lot of story, but that's obviously not the point; it's just out to show its intended audience a good time. There's enough splatter to go around, and some decent sight gags. The characters may largely be clichéd, but they're not hard to root for, with wise guy Jimmy (Jared Kusnitz, "Otis") leading the way. Greyson Chadwick ("Daddy's Little Girls") is appealing as his leading lady Lindsey. Justin Welborn ("The Signal") is amusing as the punk Kyle, Carissa Capobianco ("The Watch") leaves a favourable impression as the cheerleader Gwen, Lucas Till ("X-Men: First Class") and Blair Redford ('The Lying Game') have fun with their roles as rockers, and Mark Oliver ("Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland") is a hoot as the coach. There's nothing memorable here, unless one wants to count the fact that these zombies can be subdued by rock music. Unfortunately, there's not much of an ending; the unsatisfying resolution seems to be setting up a sequel.Five out of 10.

What a wonderful surprise this movie was. After reading a lot of miserable, negative reviews I decided I'd give it a go anyway because nothing in the bad reviews was telling me it was boring. I approached it with caution hoping I wouldn't end up feeling like I wasted my money and time. But truth is, I liked the idea of a movie with a "low budget" feel, unsophisticated special effects, cheesy humour and even bad dialog. Sometimes they are entertaining because of all that. But it turned out to be an absolute gem! Instead of being entertained by how bad it was, I was entertained by how GOOD it was. What this director has achieved with just a teensy budget puts a lot of the big players to shame. The characters were quirky and adorable, there was actually a little bit of character development and unexpected twists in their behaviour. Cool music, wonderful camera work and direction and perhaps the biggest surprise - lots of good acting! Sure there was some hammy performances but many of the actors were REQUIRED to be hammy. The characters were drawn larger than life. They were exaggerations of the kind of characters you find in this genre all the time. The movie was deliberately parodying the stereotypes and clichés and messing around with them. I guess those negative reviewers missed the point - unfortunately for them. After I saw this movie I read a bit about how it was made and that increased my admiration for all of the people involved in it. There is a genuine warmth and a sort of joy that emanates from everyone and everything about it. It must have been awesome to work on it together - and it shows. There were so many characters I really loved I found myself hoping for a sequel!! And some of the scenes were astounding. The "makeout" scene in particular was gruesome & hilarious. I also liked the way the scenes in the graveyard were done, loved the walking torso and of course, the zombie carrying it's head around so it could see. LMAO So much to love!! Ignore the nit-pickers and people who didn't get it. It's not an Oscar winning movie. It's a well directed low budget funny horror flick. It's a barrel of fun. Watch it. You wont regret it.

I find it very difficult to find anything redeeming about this film. It's not funny, it's not scary and it's not even b-movie enough to be so-bad-it's-good.I'm bewildered by the gushing essay long reviews here, there is no way somebody of sound mind could find this film to be good, charming for trying so hard maybe, but in no way can it be viewed as good. The whole thing reeks of a high school writing project. The protagonists are pushed from one scenario (where they get to beat up zombies) to the next (where they get to beat up zombies) as fast as possible in the hope that no one recognises there's no actual plot. Silly, childish stuff, and definitely not in a good way.
