If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
... View MoreGreat movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
... View MoreThere are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
... View MoreThe movie really just wants to entertain people.
... View MoreI am really surprised to see that this show has a rating of 5 out of 10 (7784 votes). I believe this is going to be a long and successful comedy show. I feel each episode is getting better then the last. It's got heart and right amount of sarcasm. Like somebody else mentioned it's nice to see the actors laugh and break character at times. Reminds me of Seinfeld. First season of Seinfeld wasn't the best one, it grew and improved over time, something I think is happening to Whitney. Whitney Cummings is a far better actor then Jerry Seinfeld ever was in my opinion. Dan O'Brien is wonderful in his role as Mark. I also like Chris D'Elia, maybe not the best actor but come on, we're talking about a sitcom. Might not be a 10 out of 10 but I give it a 10 to compensate for all the haters :)

View MoreFirst of all, I think this show, apart from common belief (check the negative reviews), is not really made to showcase Whitney's "particular type of humor" and not any type of humor for that matter. It's pretty basic, i laugh my ass off at almost all the jokes, probably because the situation actually feels real, i find myself in the writing, sometimes even making those jokes. Secondly, the conflicts aren't stretched, the act easy to follow, reasonably dealt with clichés and on top of that, the entire cast is lovable and authentic, what's wrong with that? Probably they needed superpowers to spice it up a bit and make it more likable. But anyway, I should probably blame the poor American taste for television and people's incompetency in understanding sarcasm for all the amazing shows I witnessed to be canceled. Lucky I'm European!
... View MoreThis is a brilliant sitcom which addresses issues of modern couples which other shows are afraid to touch and does so in a witty and entertaining way. I can't begin to understand why there are so many negative reviews out from viewers and critics. I find Whitney to be more real than many characters in sitcoms, perhaps because she does play a fictionalized version of herself and draws on her own life events and experiences in creating the skits. Her boyfriend provides balance to the show as well since Whitney on her own can be a bit over the top. I was afraid that the bad reviews would kill the show and am pleased that it will be returning for a second season. This was not clear at the end of season 1 because the season seemed complete on its own.
... View MoreWhen I saw the adverts for this show i thought it seemed pretty funny, then i saw the mixed reviews and i thought i would give it a chance. However whilst watching from the start the bits didn't seem that funny at all, it was too scripted and the acting wasn't great, very flat and no personality. The "live audience" was very annoying and made me cringe every time a comment/joke was made. I know its in all the great comedies but they are actually funny.I did see some potential from Chris D'Elia's character 'Alex' but it didn't really make much of a difference.
