Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

I must have watched V: The Final Battle so many times, but I only caught onto it after friends mentioned the mouse eating scene in V the original mini-series. One friend openly wondered why aliens always aimed their mouth upwards when swallowing a mouse, rat or hamster but I guess whatever method it would do much to solve the New York City rat problem, and would no doubt be an election winner for any mayoral candidate. One of my favorite characters was Ham Tyler played by one of my favorite actors, Michael "Total Recall" Ironside. He put a lot of spine into the Resistance and played an instrumental role in the downfall of the aliens. Ham was the Man and it was good to see him continue in V: The Series. Also when I saw Robert Englund's name in the credits, I wondered if that was the same Robert Englund in Nightmare on Elm Street, released the same year???!!! It was!!! Willy was so different to Freddie big time, but that's a testament to Robert's incredible acting skills. I remember seeing an interview with Robert when he said that at an autograph session, many eager V fans turned up to meet him, and then a bunch of leather clad bike club type folks turned up and asked him to autograph their gear...they were Nightmare on Elm Street fans!!!

"V:The Final Battle really does show that follow ups are really great.the cast of "V" return in this great follow up.The war with the Visitor has heated up,the resistance is getting beat some but really fight back with the help of the Fifth Column, led by Martin.Robin gives birth to a half human, half Visitor baby, which she names Elizabeth.Elizabeth is the hope for all.I like the fate of Daniel Bernstein got set up by the resistance.Daniel will be on a serving platter for what happened to Brian, that is Daniel's punishment by the Visitor,Steven, played by Andrew Prine(Amityville II:The Possession). The resistance set him up after he killed Ruby,a lady Daniel knew growing up.Michael Ironside(Spacehunter:The Adventures In The Forbidden Zone,SeaQuest 2032,and Total Recall)as Ham Tyler is a wonderful addition to the "V" franchise.Michael Ironside plays the roll of Ham Tyler really well.Mickey Jones(Savage Dawn,Total Recall, and National Lampoon's Vacation)is another,he plays Ham Tyler's associate,Chris Faber,Denise Galik-Furey as Maggie Blodgett,This follow up to "V" really did real well,I liked it when I saw it when it came out in 1984,and "V" The Series after.Kenneth Johnson did a great job creating this show and shows like "The Incredible Hulk" and "Alien Nation".I give "V:The Final Battle" 2 thumbs up and 10/10 stars.

The sequel to Kenneth Johnson's 1983 sci-fi classic, 'V', aired over three consecutive nights on NBC, in May 1984. An unintentional comedy, Johnson had disassociated himself early on in production, but had laid the groundwork to continue the alien invasion story.Based on the critical and ratings success of the original, NBC rushed this mini-series, and it clearly shows in every facet; the dialogue is laughable, the special effects terrible, and even the soundtrack is weak.Relying heavily on action, melodrama and pure silliness, 'VFB' is a bloated disappointment if viewed seriously. Otherwise, it's eighties television at it's best,(or worst), highly entertaining and lots of fun.

The GREATEST mini-series of all time was, of course, the original V. I hadn't seen either in years, until they both started making the rounds on MPLEX. And if possible, both got BETTER with age. And I'll tell you what, Faye Grant is STILL quite the hottie. And with an unblemished record of heterosexuality, I can say without hesitation that Marc Singer might the coolest guy of the 80s! He is basically a mix of Luke Skywalker and Kevin Bacon. You certainly can't go wrong there. This is definitely something that every child of the '80s MUST have in his video library. Without question.
