Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
... View MoreEach character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
... View MoreWhile it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
... View MoreThe story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
... View MoreIt was a cute show that in the tradition of shows like "Wings" and "Yes, Dear!" really should have lasted a little longer. Diane Cannon was great and some of the story lines were very pertinent. David Alan Basche played perfectly against Vicki Lewis' dry wit and A.J. Langer's quirkiness. The second seasons addition of Paul Hipp, as Elliott, and Brian Scolaro, as Gordon, were a good touch. Vicki Lewis' story line with Elliott brought a great dimension to the lighter story lines. Also, the "Playboy Bunnies Reunion" episode, has plenty of merit!I'm sorry it didn't last. I've got a few episodes still on tape, but I would like them all! I'd like to know if anyone out there has any copies that can be posted.
... View MoreThree Sisters is a very poorly written 'comedy', that hopefully will be canceled very soon. I'd say it's another Suddenly Susan, so terrible is the show! The show has tired gags that try for attention, uses sex for humor as many bad comedies do, and features a very unattractive cast. I'll excuse the narrator and maybe Bonerz. Why is this show still on? I know people who actually get angry if they see it while channel surfing.
... View MoreOh, what pain the delusions of NBC programmers have let loose upon the airwaves! With an unearned tip of the hat to Austen and Chekhov, Three Sisters deals with the weekly adventures of boring Steven who marries even more boring Bess and, as part of the package, ends up literally living with her obnoxious sisters -- caustic Nora and flighty Annie. In an attempt to make this show something more than a shallow midseason replacement, each show is blandly narrated by Steven. As his narration seems to consist mostly of self-centered whining and tritely predictable insights, watching this show soon becomes the equivalent of getting cornered by a really boring drunk at the neighborhood bar.
... View MoreThis is an interesting comedy I'm willing to watch. It isn't the funniest thing I've seen, but it is definitely better than most of the comedies NBC has churned out. It is worth a try and hopefully NBC won't go on another cancelling frenzy in the near future. In my opinion this show is worth your time. There are a few laughs.
