As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

I noticed right away that the way they were presenting this series wouldn't appeal to everyone. It isn't as sophisticated as some of the movies and previous series have been adapted from comic book superheroes. This one was made up by the writers and had nothing to do with a previous comic book. I thought the storyline was cute based on a man who is framed and his way of solving is to become the beloved character of his son. This was more of an all family show this is true. All comics are campy and cheesy to me. That's why I have never liked any of them growing up but then that is a personal opinion. There are no new ways to tall a story and no new plot ideas really. It's always been done one way or another so to put down a show for that is inane. Who is to say something is cliché? That is an opinion as well. It is how they present the story that makes the difference. He is a self proclaimed crime fighter who had two choices, give up and run away or fight back. He chose to fight back. What I found unique was the circus and the magician that taught him sleight of hand tricks and illusions. These characters made the series unique and I wish they had and the viewers given the show a chance. It had great potential. The acting was fine and the script was fine. People just didn't take to it and mostly because it wasn't based on anything they recognized. Unfortunately the lead has been around in other TV series but I didn't think he was the right person to play the part. You need a really appealing actor in this role. One that is seasoned as this man was but also visually appealing and the last part he was not. I'm sorry to say this but I didn't find him attractive and a superhero should be super. He just looked like the guy next door, maybe. That was sort of part of the storyline but the man was just not memorable in the part no matter how good an actor he was. He was totally miscast. This is why Ben Affleck failed in his superhero role. He wasn't memorable in the part or super in anyway. Just some guy you couldn't connect to. Again miscast like this actor. Too bad it had such a short run, he could have grown on us after awhile.

This was a great short lived show. It was nice to see mostly human super heroes & villains. The Cape was one of only a few shows in recent years that held my attention enough to watch every episode. The cast worked well together. Several of the characters were both heroes & criminals. There was enough relationship building to keep my wife interested in the show. There was enough action & plot to keep us entertained. They developed the characters to a point that we wanted to know more about them & would have enjoyed another season to see many of the villains return. Overall a great show that could have ended better & too few episodes to fully develop a culture & all its characters to their potential. It's probably too far gone to bring it back. Though they could do a movie or animated comic or incorporate some of the characters into other media.

Of the last ten years, this show would have to be ranked number one on the worst list. It's just awful. The writing is bad, the acting is bad, the SFX are bad...there is literally nothing good about it. Everyone involved on this project, including those at NBC that approved it, should be ashamed of themselves. The lead character suffers from the standard over-the-top do-gooder syndrome that every television cop and D.A. suffers from. Though he pulls it off in a really bad and campy kind of way, rather than the "I want to puke your so GOOD," kind of way that you see of Eliot Stabler on Law and Order: SVU. Likewise, The Cape's wife...err...widow?...whatever, suffers from the same standard overworked D.A. "oh my god, I can't protect them all" syndrome. The actual cape itself is shaping up to be it's own character and the writers have already gone back on what they originally said. Originally, the cape was stated to be weighted, able to stretch and flex, and was spun from spider silk making it stronger than Kevlar. OK. That's a little far fetched but it is somewhat in the realm of believability. With the episode titled "Kosmo," the cape suddenly grants superhuman strength and is able to rip a closed door off a truck. When was that ability added in? Oh, right...never. It just looked good and the writers suck horribly.Believe this: If you watch this show it will be an hour of your life you will never get back and you are most likely going to miss that hour.

An extremely intelligent but nefarious ex-stockbroker convicted of embezzling millions from his clients spends 7 years of his 15 year sentence studying the law and planning his appeal. Though guilty, he concealed his crimes so well that only a technical slip-up by his bungling defense attorney caused his conviction. The bitter, brilliant convict achieves the overturn of his conviction the same way- on a tech- nicality. He vows revenge on the judicial system and passes the bar exam with flying colors. The press takes notice of this "ex-con" lawyer, and his notoriety gets the attention of Dana Faraday's law firm. Seeing the opportunity for free publicity, they hire him on a trial basis. The un- scrupulous lawyer proceeds to get every criminal he defends an acquital by unethical, often illegal means, without getting caught. His successes and his questionable methods come to the attention of Peter Fleming, who, though he controls much of the police dept., is still looking for inroads to control the courts and prisons. He also sees, and seizes apon, the opportunity to identify and recruit the smartest, most ruth- less criminals to create a street syndicate under his control to go after the Cape, Orwell, and any other public or judicial figures that get in his way. He does this through the manipulation of "the Lawyer" who is hell-bent on wreaking havoc on the judicial system, hiding behind the guise of a 'champion of the oppressed' defense attorney. Suspicions of Orwell, The Cape, and even Dana, working together, lead to the exposure and ultimate downfall of "The Lawyer", and the thwarting but not defeat, of Peter Flemming. Just an idea. Awesome show, but try to keep the plots and villains believable, though a little stretching doesn't hurt.
