I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

I must say this is one of my favorites. I am a huge Sons of Anarchy fan and when I was caught up with that show I had nothing else to get excited about watching. I didn't think anything could compare. Then one day I was searching through my Netflix and I came across The Black Donnelly's and in just 1 episode I was hooked. The story line is great, very entertaining. It never had a dull moment. The boys are all great together and can be both bad guys and charming guys. It is gritty but wonderful. The strength and commitment these brothers have towards each other is the set up for a great story. The episodes leave you feeling the bond and on edge waiting for the next episode. Another thing I like is that the story isn't so confusing you can't follow, many shows I can't watch because it gets too complicated and I lose interest. This series has the right amount of everything. If you like crime dramas with love, excitement, a bit of comedy and family combined this show is for you. Plus it helps that the brothers are cute and mob related stories are always fun. Give it a chance, you'll want to keep watching. I hope to get this series on DVD because it is a keeper.

The Black Donnelys was a ground breaking show on the brotherhood of four Irish brothers which showed their chilling struggle with life in their neighborhood. From the very first 10 minutes of the pilot I was drawn into this masterpiece. The whole series was a complete thrill ride that i couldn't stop watching. This show was brilliant on a whole new level of TV that could have shaped for a better, more meaningful level of TV.However it seemed that not everyone was smart enough to comprehend its level of brilliance. The twists and turns kept going throughout this whole series including the death of one Donnely whom I will not mention. It still disgusts me on how this show of grit and tension was replace by a stupid show called The Real Wedding Crashers! I still do wish for a continuation of this series, no matter how long it would take!

This show was amazing. The only problem with this show was that it was not very consistent. It would have one incredible show then some OK ones, then a great one again. The first episode was incredible. I loved it. The music was very appropriate, the acting was pretty good. The storyline was incredible. The last episode made me angry that they canceled the show. It was great, and it left me wanting more. Paul haggis leaves the story at a compelling but horrible cliffhanger. Bottom line is the show was completely worth watching. The show had great portions of drama, action, suspense, and romance. I think the greatest part of the show was the loyalty to the family. I always thought that the idea of four brothers was really good. They never give up on each other, and always trust each others decisions, even though sometimes they don't agree.

Okay, if you really like to watch crap do not watch this! This is a show that actually attempts to define what it means to be a lower class urban racial majority and allows persons of similar lineage to identify with something other than a culture that is not their own. I have seen every episode and each one has had brilliant actors, playing the perfect role in a fantastic story which is being unravelled in addictive little bits of wonderful storytelling. Lots of character build-up that just as you get to know them and identify with the character culminates in either action and/or suspense. A fine portrayal of 2 cultures that built and had major influences on N.America facing off with wits or muscle in the seedy backstreets of NYC. Watch this show!
