a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

Me and my late sister (who died in a car crash) watched this show on Nick Japan back in the end of the 1990s and then again in English very early during the turn of the 2010s. So every time I see this show, I think of her. Alot of the SpongeBob staff worked on this show first, and the plots and characters are pretty similar: Rocko and SpongeBob, Heffer and Patrick, Ed and Squidward, Spunky and Gary, etc. My favorite episode has to be the one where Rocko visited his uncle who lives in Texas; my sister always thought he was badass. Watching that episode now makes me miss my sister, even though she could be annoying at times, we still bonded over Rocko and I do know she at least liked Sonic.

I liked this show as a kid but rewatching it as an adult I find myself not laughing at any of jokes in this show or even cracking a smile really. I don't see why people love this show as adults as it's incredibly unfunny and would only make small children laugh because their brains aren't fully developed. I mean I like stupid humor I can laugh at a fart joke but this show couldn't tell a funny joke if it's life depended on it.

An instant Nichaolden classic that deals with the misadventures of an Australian Wallabie and his two best friends Helfer and filbert.Anamorphic animals that live in O'town USA getting through life and getting caught in the daily lives of the kooky neighbors. The humor derives from double meaning, sarcasm, mean spirited dreams and ironies of the situation at hand. Each episode feels new as they go fishing, deal with space aliens or even travel into the future without aging in deep space. What really sets it apart from other cartoons besides going on forever is the mention or return of recurring characters like the bigheads, Melva the postwoman and friendly little elves that help create a fascinating world where anything can happen if you dream it.A good thing got me since I liked all the new additions, never felt over used and had their own unique charm each time they visited.Rocko may have never won any awards or special recognition it did lead the way in Adult cartoon entertainment that fills adult swim each night. The social commentary added an interesting aspect that are a treat For adult like Rocko having to get married or be deported and cleaning up the forest For the next generation. The animation and pop references may be dated, but it was always a parody of real life anyway and it will just your fit to see Richard Simmons doing the butt press. For a show the writer never had faith in it was a staple in my childhood and brings back wonderful memories when I bought it during its first time ever release on DVD.There never will be another cartoon this interesting again.10/10

Rocko's Modern Life is one of the funniest cartoon's I've seen. Being on Nickelodeon when the station was in it's earlier years, the show has a bit more freedom then the shows on today. The show is focused around the Wallaby Rocko who has moved to the US from Australia and is trying to adapt to the big city. Along the way Rocko meets Heffer Wolfe, a steer raised by wolves and Filburt, a nausea's turtle. The comedy presented in Rocko is a bit more adult oriented (not nearly as much as Ren and Stimpy) but is till hilarious. Heffer is genius as a character. He is just stupid enough to be funny and always carries the humor in every scene.Rocko, with his great accent, is seen as the good natured, innocent kid always ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time. The animation is not bad, the character's aren't supposed to be perfect and are sometimes a bit funny looking. The story is perfectly written and is loaded with laughs. The character's are worked in perfectly and have the greatest voices. It's a shame that Nick took it off the air. Hopefully they'll bring it out on DVD soon. It's a great show. Try and catch it on Nickelodeon, it sometimes is on.Rocko's Modern Life. Starring: Carlos Alazraqui, Tom Kenny, Mr. Lawrence, and Charles Adler.5 out of 5 Stars.
