Very well executed

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

First review on imdb, but so many people are praising this show that I had to write an honest review for it, so here goes.I started watching this show after I caught Queen for a day over the holidays and now I really wish that I hadn't because it's very poorly done and frustrating. Queen for a Day was quite good, but the rest of the show.....not so much. I'll start with the pros.The animation and music are fantastic. There are some really interesting side characters introduced and some really potentially complex plot materials here as well, which brings me to my first con....The writing.Not sure where to begin with this. The obvious Frozen rip offs of characters and plot maybe? I get that frozen made millions, but is Disney really so creatively dead that they can't come up with anything new since Frozen other than to milk that cash cow until its dry. (I didn't like Frozen btw, but the original Tangled was one of my favorites).Then there's the plot holes that leave enormous questions by the end of the show (not unlike Frozen). The annoying filler. The side characters that come and go that have very little to do with the main plot, which involves solving the mystery of the black rocks. Except there's very little of the actual black rock arc in this show, it's all wasted on filler. And by the time you get to the finale, there's so much that they don't fill in for you that you have to fill In for yourself, but that is hindered by the simplistic show format, which brings me to my next con. The tone.Theres some dark and edgy stuff in this show, but the simplistic and childish plotting really detract from it all. The original tangled wasn't just for kids. The show obviously is, even though some of the episodes are dark and scary. This kind of isolates older fans of the show who would want something more from it while scaring younger fans at the same time. The characterization. By far the worst of the show. They altered the leads personalities so much that they're hardly recognizable. Rapunzel is supposed to be 18. She looks and acts much younger than that. I get that she's naive and sheltered and wouldn't be as mature as most people her age because of her background, but did they have to make her so unlikable? I didn't really care for her behavior by the end of the show as I found her very whiny, vapid and self centered. You would think that since this show is supposed to take place right after the movie that she would have some sort of trauma or issues from her 18 years with Mother Goethel to work through. The first episode hints to this but doesn't ever go back to it. Instead she is a lot simpler of a character and a lot more perfect, except in Queen for a Day, where she mess everything up. And Eugene is just sort of..,there. He's either moral support or for comedy and that's it. They also made him a lot meaner in the show than he was in the movie. In the movie he had a very dry sense of humor, but in this its just petty and mean spirited a lot of the times. Again, you would think a character with Eugenes background would have a lot to adjust to here as well, being a former thief who now faces the prospect of being a king. The king is a major jerk. He does some very shady things in the show, especially towards the end. The Queen is just sort of there. The pub thugs are in it as well which is a bonus.Then there's newcomers Cass and Varian who get the better end of the characterization and plot that this show has to offer. If you're curious, then watch it, but you might be disappointed if you truly loved the original. And honestly, there is better FanFiction of this show than the actual show itself, which really says a lot.

This show has been so funny and full of adventure😘🙂 I love Rapunzel so much, I wish I could meet her and be such an amazing person like strider or rider. I love all the new characters also, thanks Disney plaese more episodes and yeah.

I have watched Tangled Before Ever After (TBEA) and ep1~11 season 1. These are half of the first season.If Tangled TV series was an original story, it would be definitely a qualified TV-Y7 series. Many fun and crazy things are taking place, hilarious enough for kids, enjoyable for family, also the art style is adorable. However, Being a variation of well-reputed animated movie Tangled (2010), if you are a big fan of Rapunzel and Eugene and eager to see deeper development of this couple and their family (Rapunzel's parents), You have better to low down your expectation. The character setting of Rapunzel and Eugene are gradually drifted away from the original movie. Instead of further developing from the existed elements, Lots of Isolated events and new things are introduced, but they are mostly shallow. There are a few well written episodes, but more are forgettable. I give TBEA very good rate, but the following TV series do not keep the same level. I have to say very frankly, I love Rapunzel and Eugene because of their great image in the original movie; If I skipped the Tangled movie and directed go to the TV series, I won't love them that much.I list the major disappointments:1.Eugene: Before the show released, when the first time I knew a new main character, Rapunzel's lady-in-waiting Casandra would be introduced, I started worry that Eugene would be less important in the show; seems it gradually becomes reality. Eugene didn't get the portion and respect he deserved in the show. He becomes more cheesy and dumb in the show, useless in the most time. He is more like a jerk in front of most people except Rapunzel. He usually makes improper jokes in the wrong moments, instead of being humour, it just looks dumb. He degrades to one of Rapunzl's many sidekicks. Eugene is way more than that in the original movie. This makes me convinced that Disney would rather put more effort on female characters to meet most audience's desire. 2.Rapunzel: While watching TBEA, I felt they were in the correct way because I saw enough depth in it. Rapunzel was truly struggling in her new position, having disagreement with her over protected father. In that time I supposed Rapunzel's learning process and the relation with her parents would be an important part in the show. I was totally wrong. When the TV series started, suddenly Rapunzel has freedom to go anywhere inside the kingdom without an army of guards; it could have been a process which turned out a good episode, but it wasn't. Rapunzel has no struggles in the TV series, being good in everything, being welcome and turning almost everything in the way she desired; basically, becomes some sort of Mary Sue. Sometimes she was too naive and too annoying, her sense of human boundary was ridiculous; Yes she was trapped alone in the tower for 18 years, but in the original movie this was not that obvious, she doesn't has to be. Learning process was not part of the show, in ep10 and ep11 we just knew Rapunzel is getting well in the royal public presences, but it was never mentioned 'how'. In addition, being kidnapped and trapped for 18 years was highly likely to brought some trauma to Rapunzel and need to overcome, but it looks like these has nothing to do to her characteristics. Maybe this show is for young kids and they avoid the serious parts. 3.The relation: This is one of the most disappointed parts. Rapunzel and Eugene's bound is greatly weaken in the show. I haven't seen they work together very well in any single episode (have we?), seems they are no longer be the best partners. In most time Eugene is just one of a follower/supporter of Rapunzel. Quote from someone else, Eugene is more like going with a Mary Sue girlfriend, do whatever she want and no matter she cares about him or not. I almost forget they were such a great and tighten couple in the original Tangled movie.4.Barely invisible the king and the queen: It makes every sense that we should see the king and the queen often in the show. There are plenty of rooms to developed good back story for them, and how they fill the 18-year-gap with Rapunzel should be important parts. Then, we get more Cassandra. I can only assume that they don't want to see adults too often in a Y7 series.5.Story composition: Essentially, it's totally different making a 3 seasons 78 episodes show than a 2-hour movie. You can easily focus on a few points and a few characters in a movie, but it is almost impossible for a long TV series. Therefore we have a Tangled series that each episodes are basically independent, the continuation is low. It's usually happened in TV cartoons, I just want it could be more structured.About Cassandra: being the only new introduced main character, Cassandra has strong traits and is somehow controversial. Her strong self image, great desire to prove herself and to achieve her dream meets the expectation of many audience, a brave girl that speaking for herself. However, she comes from a very different background comparing Eugene and Rapunzel, She received many dislikes by intervening Eugene and Rapunzel, conflicting with Eugene .etc. Cassandra is a character that "Lover is going to love, hater is going to hate", but that is a main propose of this character: bringing conflicts that a drama needs, and apparently it works. Since Cassandra is a new character, there is no continuity or recapturing issue such as Eugene and Rapunzel; and apparently, Cassandra has the greatest development potential. I only care about how they use this new character properly. If the order turns to Rapunzel > Cassandra > Eugene, I would be very, very disappointed.

Now, I'm not for sure if I loved Tangled or not. I last saw it the time it was in theaters, but I remember thinking it was funny and unique. I think I remember Tangled's success has gotten it a short, which I haven't seen.All of the characters are forgettable and the main characters are not the same as they were in the movie, Rapunzel has turned into a rebellious teen who always sasses her birth mother. Flynn is now emotional.I saw the episode, What the hair? Which is a funny title, but I don't like the premise. In that episode, people are worrying about Rapunzel's hair and they do stupid things such as electrocuting her hair. Like what is wrong with Rapunzel's hair? It's fine, but yeah, I wanted to know how it grew back all of a sudden after the events of the movie, but going through all of this crazy stuff just to figure out what's wrong with it?
