I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
... View MorePurely Joyful Movie!
... View MoreIt's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
... View MoreThere are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
... View MoreThe first three seasons of Martin Lawrence's comedy were great, almost brilliant. Lawrence showed himself to be an incredible comedian and impersonator. The show had a crazy energy about it, and it was nice seeing another comedy with an all-black cast succeed.Unfortunately, the last couple of seasons of the show were horrible. The characters started using established tics and catch phrases as crutches. The writing got very sloppy, almost to where it seemed (to me) the actors were improvising half their lines. And Martin Lawrence, perhaps getting a little too enamored of his own success, got increasingly out of control in real life. How bad did it get? Eventually Tisha Campbell, who played Martin's girlfriend Gina, refused to do scenes with him! There's a point in the last season where you will not see the two actors in the same location at the same time. Like another popular sitcom featuring a stand-up comedian (Roseanne), Martin went in with a bang and out with a whimper. Still, it's worth catching the first seasons of the show to see Martin Lawrence at his best.
... View More"Martin" was the show that everybody I knew looked forward to on Thursday nights back in the early nineties. Forget what was coming on NBC and CBS, we knew that "Martin could supply the goods for us."Martin" basically focused on a radio DJ and the comic misadventures he has with his friends. If you already guessed, hilarity ensues from all this. It's real hard to think of anything I didn't like about the show because the show was that good. Everybody on the show, I felt, had very good chemistry with each other and the writing was very strong also. Since "Martin" was popular among many audiences, most notably African-American, I'm surprised this series is not on DVD yet.Like the same with my one sentence review, "Martin" was on the air back when the Fox channel was still a good network. Now, in my opinion, Fox shows crappy television shows now. We need more shows like "Martin" on that channel.Whenever an old episode of "Martin" is on the air, try watching it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
... View MoreMy favorite "Martin" episode was when Martin, Gina, Pam and Cole told their versions of how Martin and Gina met. Martin portrayed himself as a pimp that Gina was all over, while Gina had Martin as a shy nerdy type guy. Pam had Martin, Cole and Tommy as thugs, while Cole's version lasted only 5 seconds, with Pam all over him (yeah, right!)But Tommy's version was the closest to the truth, with him, Martin and Cole crashing a private party that Gina and Pam attended. Cole and Tommy wound up getting thrown out by security, but Martin somehow convinced Gina to tell the security guard that he was her man, even though they never met before. Quite interesting. Also, any episode with Dragonfly Jones is funny as I don't know what. If anyone remembers the episode when Martin and Gina first met, let me know! Peace!
... View MoreWhen will they have his entire show on DVD? This is one or two DVDs I will definitely buy. I think it was on for at least 4-5 seasons? Does anyone know when they will be available? All the characters were very good and I so sorry to see this show end. You can never recapture laugher like that. All the episodes were funny. I especially loved the one when Martin thought he was being hen-pecked and Gina had the bat to him. I also loved the episode when he went on the hunger strike.I wonder what the writers of the show are doing now and if they will write something as similar.
