... View MoreI cant' help but love this show. Brought back so many memories of the toys I had growing up. It was just so much fun.I have to say my favourite show was the house made out of Lego. That was just brill to see a whole life sized house made out of Lego bricks and using construction techniques based on Lego.Second favourite was the train where they tried to get the longest model train line going and just nearly made it but the train died.... And the Scalextric car setup was fantastic. with the slot car track going down roads and stuff, and across a river.I'd recommend this show to anyone that wants a fantastic light hearted look at the toys we grew up with.8/10
... View MoreI knew instantly I would like this TV series, not just because of Top Gear presenter James May, but because it would remind of my childhood in some cases, and to see impressive toy constructions and creations. The idea was to prove that old toys were still good for something, and the premise of the programme each episode was to explore the impact the toy had in the old days, the significance in the modern world, and super-size them to show their true potential. There was a life-size Airfix model World War II Spit Fire, an award-winning garden entered into the Chelsea Flower Show made entirely of Plastercine, a life-size Meccano bridge, a Guinness World Record breaking Scalextric track set on the old Brooklands race circuit/track (the first in the world), a record-breaking Hornby train track from Barnstaple to Bideford, and a life-size Lego house in Dorking, Surrey. In the show, you could look out for David Bellamy, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Stephen Fry, Joanna Lumley, Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Trevor McDonald, Phillip Schofield and Alan Titchmarsh. Very good!
