    At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

    The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

    If you are a lover of the original Anne books then you will probably end up disliking this modern TV remake. If you never read and loved the books then you'll probably enjoy it.This TV show veers way off course from the plot and characterisations from the books and inserts current 2017-2018 social justice ideas, thoughts and feelings into this fictional show set in the early 1900s when such social justice and politically correct ideas weren't even thought of. Not to mention the fake drama put in there for the sake of it. No, just no.If you are going to do an adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, then do that. There is plenty of source material to pull from, which happen to have better plots than this series ended up with anyway. Why did they bother?I just don't get it.

    Anne with an e is a masterpiece. It may be quite different from Anne of green gables but there's nothing wrong with it. Since there is more depth to the story and many interesting characters to it. I think it's brillliant. It's well adapted to modern society. It also shows many important issues such as racism, sexism, sexual abuse and bullying. Anne is simply amazing, she's smart, funny, interesting and optimistic but also her character development must be mentioned. I love how they gave more depth do Gil as well I find his and Anne's relationship simply beautiful. Love it, whoever hasn't seen it, has to!

    I enjoyed the first season. The darker, grittier tone was an adjustment for me (having grown up a fan of the 1985 adaptation), but the choices made sense and grew on me. But this season the storyline was a bizzare mix of great characters and scenes, out-of-place modern references, and a stifling push of political agendas. I am all for displaying love, respect, and tolerance in media (much needed these days), but the way this was done was as subtle as a sledgehammer.
