If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

This show is addicting, every single little thing about it is perfect. It's sweet, funny, and unique. It is different from other shows, since it explores different issues, of those in the music industry. You learn so much about Jude, a girl who has trouble to survive in this fast-paced industry, and to make things worse for her, she starts falling for her producer. All of the actors portray their characters excellently, the plot lines, to be honest, can get a little too dramatic. But nevertheless, the songs are so beautiful, it is pretty much the only thing you'll be listening to for a while. This show is amazing, it's worth watching for sure.

I've read some of the other comments about this show, where people complain about how the characters are constantly making out, or how the lead is an airhead. Clearly, these people have never seen this show. Instant Star is not about making out, or using people to make it to the top. It is about struggle. About how you have to work at stuff to make it happen.Jude Harrison wins the Instant Star competition at age 15. She clashes with her producer, Tom Quincy, formerly Lil' Tommy Q of the hottest boy band ever. She struggles to remain true to herself, despite what her label wants. She falls in love with Tommy, has her heart broken, and gets back up. Jude Harrison is not an airhead. She is smart, and she does stay true to herself. You find yourself rooting for her to win.Is there making out? Well, what show doesn't have it? Is it constant? No. Jude has boyfriends. Jude kisses said boyfriends. You would too. Another complaint that is lodged in my head is "you never see them at school, or doing schoolwork." That is not true at all. In season 1, Kat struggles with physics. In season 2, Jude fails a test. You see them at school. It's another thing that Jude has to deal with. All in all, this is a good show. It is about struggle. Maybe it pushes reality a bit, but so do other shows. Jude Harrison, now 17, is a good person. This is a good show for teens to watch. In the end, what's important is what you think. As Tommy says "Don't ever ask permission to like your music", and that's applicable to everything. It can be interpreted as "Don't ask permission to like yourself", and I think that's a great lesson. Watch away, teens.

I've read a few comments on this board from people who think this show is unrealistic and has too much sexual content. I've got only one question: What show are YOU watching?? In an age of highly unrealistic, contrived, overly-sexed "reality" shows, Instant Star is a breath of fresh air. As much as I love Degrassi: The Next Generation, I love this show even more, as the drama in the show is done for a reason. Not just the usual "It's a teen show, let's throw in every teen stereotype possible" drabble, but each situation has a purpose. Jude Harrison is struggling to to make a name for herself amid all the craziness that comes with the music business, and with being a teen-ager, dealing with all the challenges that come with life and love. MU As far as the sex...what sex? Jude doesn't even get to make out with anyone on the show. Sure, there's some kissing between the teen characters, but that's as far as it goes. The "worst" scenes happen between the adults on the show, and even those are tame in comparison to what's on T.V. today. I've seen racier commercials. Whoever thinks there's too much sex on this show must've sat on their remote control & switched to BET Uncut or MTV After Hours by mistake. I'm 32, and the proud parent of an 8-year-old, and I've no problem at all letting my son watch this show. It's an over-all portrait of a young girl struggling to hold her own in a world she's not quite ready for, and the challenges she faces trying to find her own way and stay true to herself. A parent could do MUCH worse letting their child watch something else on Nog. Like, for instance, the horrible commercials for that new Jessie Mc Carthy show. Those commercials have more smut in them than the entire 2 seasons of Instant Star put together.

i am a teen and i have to say this show is awesome! i watch it almost every day- and i enjoy the music, the situations (divorce, romance) and it relates to some of the teens out there. this show- even though i love it- has a bit to much kissing in it, but it IS suitable for teens and children. i only have 2 complaints about it: 1) to much kissing; 2)not enough new episodes. there should be a new episode every Saturday. otherwise- i love this showing!!! this show could not get too much better and the creators have created something special! I am sure that 90 percent of the teens, at least, agree with me. if you, reader, have never seen the show, i highly recommend it!
