    Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.

Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

I was born the year this show came out in Canada, so I "grew-up" with Degrassi: The Next Generation rather than the classic one. And although I love TNG, I find myself loving Degrassi Junior High ten times more.I can't really put my finger on why I like it so much better, but I think it may have to do with the fact the actors and actresses in the show look like kids. They aren't gorgeous, rich kids running around complaining they broke a nail, or found a zit. They face real issues, that are very believable. It's a raw, and rarely shown, look into real kids in a real school, not what Hollywood thinks is real. The thing I find with TNG is, they all appear to be gorgeous and insanely good-looking, and not everyone looks the way they do in junior or high school. So, if you are fan of the next generation, maybe you should take a chance on the series where it all began. And while I still love TNG, and live in the States, Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High and School's Out! will always be my favorite.

OK, lets get this out of the way. I'm 30 years old at the time of this review. I was in grade 6 when Degrassi junior high started. I remembered Degrassi Street from Sunday morning, and hated it--I was not about to like this show. Little by little throughout the year, I was hooked. By the time I graduated high school I had spent 6 years with this kids. Second item. The acting was terrible! Even as a kid, I knew it, but that was part of the success of the show. These were regular thirteen year old drama student acting as thirteen year old kids dealing with issues. Some of the actors went on to act in other shows, movies etc..., some did not. Others posts have mentioned that this may be the best show ever to come out of Canada, and that may be true...sadly. This is not M*A*S*H though. This is not high drama. This was a show that captured the moment precisely. It caught the correct vibe of the time. I don't know if it has aged well since it first aired and I don't care. This show, even if you couldn't directly relate to a single character, was bang on, on what was going on at school at the time. I may not have had Wheels, Snakes or Joeys problems, but they were my classmates. I watched them year after year, for years. No class trips to Australia, no Rolls Royces, no mansions, no rich daddies. Just real issues, year after year. Thank you, for those years. Long live Zit Remedy.

I grew up watching Degrassi in Canada. I started with Degrassi Street, and I had a crush on 'Griff', played by Neil Hope ('Wheels' in Degrassi Jr. High) and was hooked from then on. I had no idea this was such an international success until I read comments here from Israel, the UK, U.S.A. and Mexico! I really thought Canadian kids were the only lucky ones to get to see it.To this day my friends and I still reminisce about the show, certain episodes and our favourite characters. As a Canadian, I hold these actors very dear to my heart. We get so excited when we see one of them on another show, or get a part in a movie, and say 'Hey, he's from Degrassi!' We fell in love with these characters. I never cared that the acting wasn't the best, or the sets weren't perfect. These were real kids, and they used a real school as the set! That is what made this show awesome. The topics were what was really going on in youths' lives. There was as much funny stuff as serious stuff, and we really got to feel involved with these characters. There has been nothing like Degrassi since and may never be. I don't relate to Degrassi: the Next Generation as much I think because I'm older now , or maybe it's really not as good. All I can say is Kitt Hood had a vision, and she brought those kids into our houses every week and made my teenage years more bearable and memorable. Thanks Kitt.

I remember when I was in 7th grade my teacher would make us watch the show. When I saw the first episode I thought it was horrible! But then I kept seeing more and more episodes and started likeing the dang show. I saw so many episodes me and my friends knew the theme song. We always hated the show but then we kept watching it. It's better then doing class work. And when my teacher was going to put a stupid movie on we would beg to watch Degrassi Jr. High. That tv show warped my fragile little mind. I remember I've seen so many episodes. I watched the episode where that girl with the weird spiked hair gets pregnant. I saw the episode where Katelin gets a seisure. There were also other episodes like when Wheel's parents die and he runs away to meet his real father and Snake finds out his brother is gay and Joey wanting sex I think from Pam. There was also another episode with some balimic b*tch. And Katelin defending animal rights. It was just one of a kind shows. Every one shoulden't watch it unless your teacher tortures you by watching it. It's evil!
