... View MoreBest movie ever!
... View MoreFun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
... View MoreIt really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
... View MoreWe're on our third time watching the series as a family. We loved it, and are very, very disappointed that NBC dropped it. The costuming was innovative and sumptuous; for those of us whose knowledge of the "Wizard of Oz" was Judy Garland and sweet songs, it was an eye-opener and an invitation to look at the Baum books for the first time. I think that Tip/Ozma's story could have been really helpful for our times.
... View Morehauntingly beautiful dark fantasy doesn't exactly imitate the original plot, which makes the guessing game more exciting - you keep guessing who is who in relation to the well known story. Stunning set design and costumes. Great acting. Deep exploration of human nature. The innocent choices characters make - all justified, we feel for everybody - leading to tragic consequences. Have to admit that intro part was dragging a bit, but each next episode was better than the one before. I was glued to the screen and finished it in one night... well... two nights - i discovered the show after episode 9 was released, so had to wait for the last one.
... View More**Possible Spoilers Contained**To be honest, I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I started watching this series. The trailers pulled me in and I set my DVR to record. The first episode was so... interesting and captivating. I was always wondering where the show would go, how Oz would play into it all.I was blown away. The characters were very well characterized and my favorite character relationship was West and Tip for their amazing interactions and the struggles they face together. The visuals were amazing and the story took many twists (I honestly screamed at my friends to watch this show, not lying) and again, the characters were captivating. After season one the only thing I can say is I hope NBC permits another season because I will eat it up. Like I told my friends, (Well, more like screamed) WATCH THIS SHOW!!
... View MoreVery pleased with the writers and how they have unfolded many nuances, and created tension and suspense keeping the audience on edge to "what's next?" While the many aspects of the original movie are introduced or implied, it may be best to not refer to the movie, but instead the original books by L. Frank Baum. Emerald City is a refreshing re-take with many character perspectives that keeps the audience engaged as well as start questioning what a character is going to do.
