If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.

I like the show. I don't love it but I don't hate it. It's pretty cheesy even for a teenage soap opera. The acting isn't all that great. Really the only acting I could stand was Joshua Jackson's and Michelle Williams's (sometimes). Katie Holmes wasn't too bad. She's not very good though. James Van Der Beek was pretty bad. Maybe it was because he was young. You could tell he was acting which I know sounds dumb because he is in fact acting. It just isn't believable. He's really awkward to watch. It kind of feels like he's in a corny school special about the dangers of drugs or something. Overly dramatic. But then again it is a soap opera so maybe that's why? The thing that keeps me watching is the storyline! It's really good. The writers did an awesome job. It's relatable and catches you Now if only the actors were just as good.

I think that Dawson's Creek was an amazing show. Even though the storyline was a little exaggerated for how much the average teen goes through, it shows how teens could react to situations like these in a very sophisticated way. The series revolves around four friends and how they deal with adolescence and with all the things that come along with growing up. Dawson and Joey's relationship shows how hard it is for them to grow up because they are stuck in the past where they are comfortable. To them it's always been Dawson and Joey and growing up causes changes to that scene making adjusting difficult. I think that by tying in Dawson's perception of reality gives the show a lot more dimension. He sees the world as it is in movies so he is much more vulnerable to situations thus, more sensitive. Along with the main conflict of learning to deal with maturing and growing up many other separate dramas happen within the show. For example, throughout season's 3-6 Joey deals with having to choose between Dawson and Pacy. In between she's sees other men but always goes back to the same issue. Does she pick Dawson, her soul mate, the one who truly knows her as a person? Or does she choose Pacy, the boy who balances her out completely without any problems. In the end, she does wind up choosing Pacy. Personally, I would of rather had her pick Dawson, but honestly Pacy is a better choice because Joey and Dawson always found a way to hurt each other even though they loved each other. They will always have a special bond that could never be broken and their childhood connects them in a way that is so special. Adding the character of Jen Lindley also brings the show to life. She is the character that is troubled. She came from New York and her parents sent her away to live with her Grandmother. She had a troubled past and throughout the show she becomes such a great person. She was the one thing that made Joey realize her true feelings for Dawson in season 1. This show has many twists and turns and it's very entertaining. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. A pleasure to watch!

I believe this TV series was one the best teen set drama. Taught me some valuable lessons about friendship, love and family values. The music in the first three seasons is particularly great. A big strength of this show is that it appeals to a large amount of people, not only teenage age, it also appeals to 20's. Characters are not just two-dimension Hollywood cutouts and they all have deep personalities. I personally think the show went on for too long and it should have finished after the fourth season. I did not like Season 5 nor 6, because Joey and Pacey change to much their personalities. And is not because the fact they mature. The new characters that were cast into the show did NOT add to the show.Pacey Witter played by Joshua Jackson, was the best!! His love story, was so well written and so heartfelt, that his played had me hooked. Joey also made a great job. The rest of the characters were also great, but definitely Joey and Pacey were the best two characters.

Iwatched this show when it aired in the Netherlands some time ago and was hooked i takes you on a ride though a teenage fantasy most of us would like to have experienced. I guess some of the more negative reviews above just wont admit that but up to season 6 its most brilliant and then comes season 6 witch makes me believe they knew from the start this was the last season and i think they made a lot of episodes in this season just to fill it up to the 24. Suddenly i started skipping and forwarding episodes some of them were badly written but most of all i missed that thrill and excitement compassion and emotion the first 5 seasons brought me. And then the final 4 episodes they were ...... really good again like first 4 seasons good and it pulled me in again completely wrapping up storyline bringing the set back to were it all started and i totally loved it till the last 3 minutes PLEASE PLEASE let the person who gave the words LETS GO WITH THIS ENDING to the last 3 minutes never write or approve an ending again it was weak unexpected (and i guess that was the id) but please never do that again it was a total buzz-kill it felt bad its like Starwars the Jedi returns end with a Darth Vader victory or like Olivia Newton John end up with the Kiniky dude in Grease its not a horror movie in this kind of series give the viewers what they want and not what the popularity charts show because i think thats the case here everyone loves this Pacey i think after Holmes he was the most popular of the show and they took that in consideration when they wrote the last episodes and that was WRONG. A ending like this works in a horror i guess but not in a series like this and that was a major disappointment for me i i really hate that for something so good so thrilling so existing and at times really pulling you into the emotion of the moment to end so numb. Do me and many others a favor make a seventh season most actors on the show and got anything going anyway at the moment make it right place it a few years later like in the dream scene of Dawson at the beginning of season 6 and go from there and do it RIGHT THIS TIME show us that it can be done!!!Ending with a little footnote i do appreciate that they at least tried to put an ending to a show because thats rare these days not ending a TV-series in a proper way is an insult to viewers in my opinion and most series these days just get canceled and that is just a shame.last minute edit: on a famous video broadcasting site YT you can search for "Alternate Dawson's Creek series finale" i think its craeative and comes closer to the id i have for a proper ending.
