If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

This mini series was an absolute travesty of intelligence - if I knew there was no ending I would not have watched Amber. It was painful watching all the mistakes but I continued to watch to see how it would end, alas that didn't happen. Real life does have endings even if it's a file being closed to say "unresolved" but we didn't even get that. I'm sorry, but my recommendation is not to watch this mini series. My score for it is 3/10 and the only reason it got 3 was because of the actors. As for the play itself, zero... Does this review contain spoilers, YES, and rightfully so....

"Amber" pulls it from under our feet and shocks us because it doesn't give easy answers, and it's relentless. As I read previous entries here, I sense a wave of disappointment after disappointment because we always want to know everything, expect clean, tidy resolutions. There are tons of TV shows delivering that already. "Amber" takes some daring steps and ruffles a few feathers. The story might not be anything new. A young teen disappears, and the clues are pointing to an early discovery. After all, there's no real big mystery when we start. Friends are interrogated, technology seems to be providing information very quickly, but luck soon interferes. Then the trail grows cold, and lives are permanently altered.Set in Ireland, things could look a bit different, but they are similar to anything you'd expect in other parts of the world, and by the end of the series, we can see that "Amber" has grown into something more complex, and the mystery remains, maybe even more puzzling than ever. Through the four episodes, we met plenty of possible suspects, and this what irks many. Some are cleared, other remain question marks. It looks like the writers have done this intentionally, so there shouldn't be that much ill will for the resolution. Not sure if this is the true conclusion of the series, or if we will be treated to another season. It is set up to go either way. Sometimes we don't get all the answers, but sometimes we get writing that challenges us and takes into a powerful ride.

I think that this is a VERY dis-tasteful series. The person whom that made this a serious its completely CRAZY, basically its a BIG F YOU to the AUDIENCE! The writer who made this was reaching for straws, really reaching and he should have kept REACHING. This is not The Soprano's, at least the audience had a better understanding for the Soprano's ART. To become a loyal viewer of "Amber" never knowing that it was going to be a series. What is your comprehension on a teenager and their family and their terrifying life to be lived to the day they die. How could you make a series of something like this that has no kind of closure. WHAT SO EVER! Yes we understand the message, that is not hard to comprehend. If this was a movie then I would kind of try to know where you were trying to head. Why make 4 episodes about NOTHING.... Trying to make the audience to think there was going to be an out come????? Bc in real life, there's not good ending's for people. Being your audience its a ridiculous process of making an episode. I feel sorry for you, come back to reality. Before you write something like this you need to be in the company of people that really lost their children and not make it not such a drama, unless you know what you are doing.SO SAD

I have to say the acting was brilliant and great idea for a show but it dragged on far to long going back and forth to Day 1 or Day 48 etc.. 4 nights of watching!!! It should have been edited down to a 2hr show " with an ending"!!!! I mean WTF??? The disappointment last night with the last episode.. Sorry RTE but it wasn't cool just really annoying.... I know some people will argue that this is what happens in real life but this is meant be a show??? entertainment on the telly.. We see enough depressing stuff on the news or in the newspapers every day of the week.. If I wanted to watch something like that I'd watch a documentary or PRIMETIME!! Enough said.. RTE ye need to do better We paying huge money through TV license which is a joke as I hardly ever watch RTE!!
