Did you people see the same film I saw?

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

I decided to watch this one due to the very high rating. However, I was totally disappointed. It is a nice detective story. Luther, although a good detective, cannot control his temper, and then gets always in trouble. Things get worse when he is trapped by a corrupt colleague of his, to take the blame for the murder of Luther's ex-wife. Now, that could be a cool story, however the characters are very shallow and the story makes logical leaps in order to move on to action. I won't judge why Luther cannot control his temper. That's the main thing of his character. However, I will judge the easiness with which his boss decided to act "professionally" and to judge him as guilty without a trial. You can say her character was made to be weak, but I don't buy it. It also felt so strange how the story is jumping, with Luther guessing and finding the culprit in each crime, like out of the blue. It seems they want to concentrate on the action (and the temper of Luther), but still, it always looked like Luther had seen the same crime scenes that we had seen, and choosing the criminal from the crowd like that. A few times action looks like it makes logical leaps too. Someone appears, some shooting from half a meter, but no one dies...Anyhow, it's not a bad show to watch, but its re-watch value is very low.

I had hard time even finishing the very first episode. Ruth Wilson looks obnoxious af. Too bad since Idris Elba's character was interesting to watch.

I heard there were good reviews about this series and got interested. But the first several episodes were so bad. Not only a silly story, but the acting was horrible. Each and every actor felt like amateurish and incompetent. Like a gathering of lame beginners. The main character's toughness was so funny. The evilness of the silly girl monster was so stupid. After those few episodes I simply could not watch it any more, I could not afford to waste time on such 8.5-rated garbage.

In general this show is great, really enjoyed it. But too often i couldn't believe how characters acted/reacted or how the police worked. You bring the girlfriend of a probably murdered guy to his house where the murderer (her husband) is still around and don't keep an eye on her and hold her back when she's going upstairs where she will find her lovers corpse (which makes her grab the weapon, a hammer and kill the husband right in front of lots of police officers)? A guy is jumping on several cars, dropping his motorcycle on the floor in an entrance, attacking several people in a car in the middle of a traffic jam and in all cases, noone really cares? noone even takes a video with his smart phone or anything like that or calls for help? there is obviosly some danger in your house/someone hunts you and you hide in the closet while you could flee to the outside or you manage to leave the house but instead of running away you hide in the next building? you are hunted by some dangerous people who know your hiding place and you decide to go to your mums house and stay there (allthough these guys know where she lives)? you know you are hunted but open the front door without peeking through the door Viewer?. you confronct heavily armed dangerous people without a gun? And of course very often Luther could have tried to explain things or tell people about a Situation and he didn't even when it got himself into more trouble or false accusations. and more and more and more...
