If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

This movie is basically the EXACT same thing as the first movie but made with a different character. It wasn't too terrible to watch but I wasn't that impressed either. Nowhere near as great as the first one! I'd say it's worth it if you find it in the bargain bin for $5 or less but otherwise I wouldn't waste my money. Also wondering why, at the end of the first movie, Taj hooks up with this beautiful Indian girl but in this movie he has nobody and ends up hooking up with a girl in this one as well.. Not very good continuity if you ask me but I guess Hollywood is running out of ideas for original movies so they just do whatever they can to try and make a buck.. It's a shame really.

I have to say, whoever wrote the comment "Oh My God" made a very valid point, where is the title character?! That aside, it is a bit of a light chuckle, but I found myself screaming at the TV more than anything!! Most definitely filmed in England, with a largely British cast. But the home of the main character is most definitely NOT English, despite being in a very English location. The film is packed with things that the American creators obviously thought they were getting totally right, but have got COMPLETELY wrong!! Ridiculous British stereotypes, the types of people whom I have never come across in my 20 years of living; an Irish stereotype; the obvious Asian-American stereotype; American phrases; American cultural references; ridiculous British references that are.. well they're not really anything that anyone in Britain would actually make any form of reference to!! So on and so forth!! Overall, a laugh, but not worth the frustration of being an American made, British based film!!

Not a very good movie.Van Wilder 2:The Rise of Taj is a movie that almost completely relies on gross out laughs and unfortunately doesn't succeed. There are a only 2 or 3 giggle moments. Some people might be tricked into watching because its called Van Wilder. Don't be fulled ladies and gentlemen Van Wilder isn't even in it.Taj(Kal Penn)leaves college to continue his education he goes to a college in england where he wants to teach a rich bitch student(Lauren Cohen)not to be so serious. The actors did a OK job. That is what kept this movie from getting below 3/10. Kal Penn was funny. I didn't even know Lauren Cohen was in this(i know her from supernatural)but it was a nice surprise. This is not a very funny movie and at most times just plain stupid. The actors are the only thing that make this being worthy of even being called a movie. I don't recommend this. But if you want to watch a Van Wilder movie without Van Wilder in it then go ahead. They should have only called it 'The Rise of Taj'.3/10

I'll start by saying, this movie isn't the best cinematographic creation I've seen in my life. Yet, it has entertained me and my friends quite a lot. This movie is what American party humor is all about! Now all I see is people hating this movie because they feel cheated out of their money, but all I've got to say to those people is : Lighten up, go watch The Benchwarmers if this isn't your cup of tea.Aside the haters, this movie was quite amusing to watch, it has an obvious plot, which simplifies the task of understanding the stupidities of the various character and thus lets you enjoy the movie in its integrity. Many parts in the movie are so funny, they will crack you up and get you going for hours long. After the viewing, you will be left with a smile, because eh' the movie wasn't SO bad, it happened to make you laugh, no?
