If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

Theo is an average garden snail but unlike his buddies who make fun of him all the time, he has big dreams of overcoming his condition and become a racer. As unlikely as it sounds, after an accident where he gets infected with nitrous oxide, he gains some very special powers, car powers that is: lights, radio, reverse beeps, the lot, but above all, SPEED! And what is he going to do with it you might ask...well, race of course, but not just anywhere, no sir, in the Indy 500!!! With the help of his new snail and human crew, he's going to give his best shot to win the most prestigious race of all. It's an intriguing story, although a bit over-exaggerated (even for animation standards), which features the great adventures of Turbo, the racing snail, from his humble but harsh beginnings till the moments he truly becomes famous, thus fulfilling his lifetime dream. I truly love this film's animation and its style, not to mention its great music, but its story isn't going to blow your mind, not even close. It's a very good movie but it is certainly left behind by masterpieces like Cars, Brave and others.

A movie about a snail that dreams of racing and then gets the power to do so. Please.Alright, it's not as goofy or stupid as it appears. The CGI is great, and if you can accept the oddness of the plot, it's enjoyable. There's some good humor in there, too. It's worth watching more than once, and the ending is good.As the headline of my review says, it's better than it seems. It's not your best animated/cartoon CGI film; there are tons more out there, but get past the fact that there's a racing snail, and it's likable.

A freak accident might just help an everyday garden snail achieve his biggest dream: winning the Indy 500. I haven't seen Turbo since 2013 and my god the film holds well. The voice acting is great, the soundtrack is amazing especially the slow motion sequence with Turbo getting threw a wheel and 'Eye of the Tiger' playing in the background is simply spectacular. The film packs some great comedic moments and dramatic moments too, it's suspenseful during the final minutes of the race and it has great animation and messages for kids such as believing in your dreams and friendship. Not everyone will enjoy 'Turbo' but if you give it a fair and share chance it won't disappoint you also a sequel wouldn't be a bad idea honestly.

I though the plot line was interesting and different, a snail wanting to compete in the Indy 500? I love how ridiculous the story is, I mean it's such an impossible dream, that somehow comes to life. The characters are lovable, both the snail and human characters, the jokes were clever, and the animation was fantastic. I liked it, as do my siblings, it was hopeful and lighthearted, and their theme was great as well.
