The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

This Canadian cheapie is an indie horror flick about six college girls who head off to a Halloween funhouse for some spooky time, only to find themselves menaced by true evil. Yep, it's another bog-standard production that's endlessly padded out with random chit chat and boring characterisation, one of the worst films I can remember seeing in a long time. The girls hang out all the while and deliver their lines in a boring way while there's very little in the way of plot development or indeed horror.

What is the equivalent of a wet dream for a murder? Well whatever it is im sure scare house is pretty damn close, OK picture you're a murderer and imagine being able to do everything you've ever wanted to do to a group of sorority sisters. Oh wait you don't have to anymore, just watch the scarehouse instead. This film was raw, sexy and disgusting all at once. Now typically a little doll running around with a knife doesn't scare me, nor am I too worried about the babadook getting me, but sorority sisters, now those betches can be scary. i always find that the more plausible the plot is for a horror film the scary it becomes.I appreciate the realist approach, and am proud of this Canadian content.

The Scarehouse is a unique film that invites the viewer in with a warm, and happy intro scene with fantastic music that engages a very nostalgic feel. The story revolves around 2 troubled girls who have been wronged by their former Sorority clique, and, using a twisted sense of Justice, and making things right, redeem themselves, and bring a poetic ending to the past that haunts them all.I loved the cinematic style, the music, the sounds design - everything was exciting, and fresh. I saw the film 3 times in theatres and found new things to appreciate each time without becoming bored of seeing the same film.I'm not a fan of horror films - it's tough to even really push The Scarehouse into that category. It's a story of redemption with hot girls and tasteful gore. I really enjoyed this film.

This is a great little hidden gem that is well worth the watch. It brought me back to my pre-teen and young teenage years where every weekend I would consume as much horror as I could...whether it be one the Child's play, Nightmare on elm street or a less slasher and more psychological thriller I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately as most Horror fans know the genre as been do badly used and abused and put away beat up and wet. There are just so many direct to DVD, low budget and poorly acted sequels that in most cases have been written by either a semi above average intelligent 6 year old or a bunch of guys or girls who jokingly tossed around ideas during a drunken weekend in Vegas and some how convinced Dad to fund this "artistic" endeavor. Well when it comes to Scarehouse this is NOT the case!!!! The film centers around an extremely impressive cast of women. IT is very refreshing to see such a film that centers around a mainly women cast and women that bring very impressive resumes and bodies of work. The all did a fantastic job and did not disappoint. Sarah Booth embodied the vengeful nature of her character while Kimberly- Sue Murray did an equally superb job being more timid and questioning. That's not to say they were the only ones that shined because the entire cast was awesome and deserving of praise(Same with the crew behind the scenes that we so often forget or over look). It is really hard to go into to much detail without potentially spoiling the story. I assure you that the story is great and a throw back to the 80's horror films that I(and all of you if your reading this review) loved. It's concept and story line is like an ohmage to all the old horror films that we know and love from that era..... This movie is a true hidden gem, and was made by a cast and crew that clearly love cinema.
