The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

It's been too long since I've seen any of the "Pink Panther" films. It's so weird how we see opening and closing credits that feaure the animated Pink Panther, yet the movie itself isn't about him at all. I admit that the plot could probably be better. The main story is that Inspector Closeau has to stop a guy from taking over the world with a laser gun. I admit it is a little clichéd. Still, there's tons of great jokes especially in certain parts. My favorites are when he uses the mace to accidentally destroy stuff. There's these great bits with a drawbridge too. There's quite a few random explosions in the movie as well. We need to have more of that in comedies! While not that long, it does give off the feeling of an epic comedy because of how big it can get. It really is a James Bond parody. ***

Without a shadow of a doubt this was my favourite film as a child, I would watch it over and over again. Sometimes things can be remembered with rose tinted glasses, not in this case. Having not seen it for a while I watched it, and belly laughed the whole way through. I hadn't realised how much it felt like a Bond spoof, with our calamitous detective in the Bond role and Dreyfus the crazed villain. The opening scenes are insanely funny, and coupled with that cheerful music, the whole thing starts off in style. The scenes where Clouseau interviews the staff are my favourites, with Shalk the Gardner, Mrs Leverlilly etc, incredibly funny. So many stars, even a small appearance from the late great Omar Sharif. Michael Robbins is fabulous as the butler and transvestite singer. Peter Sellers of course steals the show, legendary of course, but only he could play the part.Pure magic from start to finish.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976): Dir: Blake Edwards / Cast: Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, Lesley-Anne Dawn, Burt Kwouk, Omar Sharif: Here is arguably the best of the Pink Panther comedies and it certainly lives up to the reputation by providing among the best slapstick has to offer. Inspector Clouseau fumbles through another case where the solution depends on his ignorance to logic. When his former boss breaks out of prison, he commandeers a ray gun and set to use it to destroy major cities. Sight jokes are exquisite thanks to director Blake Edwards, the mastermind behind the hilarity of these films. He also made another hilarious send off to slapstick with The Great Race. Peter Sellers is fantastic as Clouseau whose quest depends on pure luck of his solutions, and he has a knack for disguises particularly when his enemy suffers a tooth ache. Herbert Lom is priceless as the villain whose sanity is tested within every stroke of bad luck. Lesley-Anne Dawn plays a diva whose seduction is foreign to Clouseau. Her initial scheme backfires but through a change of heart she will encounter a sight joke involving a bed that must be seen to be believed. Omar Sharif makes a cameo as an Egyptian assassin who makes a blunder when taking aim at Clouseau. Finally, Burt Kwouk plays Clouseau's Japanese fight companion who gets laid up but not down and out in this hilarious caper comedy. Score: 9 / 10

In this one we see Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Peter Sellers) in the former position of Charles Dreyfus (Herbert Lom) who is now in a mental institution. Still mad at Clouseau, Dreyfus escapes and after getting into a position of super power, he threatens to destroy the world if Clouseau is not killed. It's up to Closeau to save the day and stop the evil Dreyfus. With the usual funny scenes and just the fact that Dreyfus goes this insane this is easily one of the best pink panther movies. Also the fight scene between Closeau and Cato Fong (Burt Kwouk) is easily the best of the series. Sellers is good as always and Lom is excellent as Dreyfus. Overall this is a movie you've seriously got to see.
