It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

Indulge yourself to an afternoon matinee on the tv while watching this somewhat action style film. Similar storyline to many a movie out there, couple on vacation one is a Marine (Dibiase), the other his wife as a advisor to hotel. They get there and all hell breaks loose with rebel forces taking over and taking hostages. Cue the Marine wanting to go in and get his wife and rescue the hostages. For a WWE movie it isn't terrible but the editing leaves little to be desired for. The characters are really flawed by no development to most of them. Michael Rooker with a small but complex role was well received. I would chalk this up to ok in action as the choreographed fight scenes were less than stellar. 4 out of 10

Pro wrestlers foraying into the world of movies seems to be some kind of a thing nowadays, and I can completely understand it: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson did it well, The music business has the cross-platform promotion working for them, and, like Seagal and Van Damme have proved years before, acting skills are not a mandatory requirement to act in an action movie.Maybe in order to avoid the embarrassment that former wrestler Hulk Hogan must (or at the very least should) feel from being associated with such notorious crimes against the art of movie-making as No Holds Barred, Mr. Nanny, Santa with Muscles, and The Ultimate Weapon, the WWE is holding the reins all the way here.As the title reveals, this film is a sequel to The Marine starring oh- so-wooden John Cena, though in spirit only. Unlike the aforementioned film, and also earlier Santa's Slay, The Marine 2 doesn't luckily ride so much on the name of it's main actor, as Ted Dibiase jr. was, at least at the time of the filming, quite some way away from wrestling main events. With this being said, the films plays it very safe. The flaws of the script and the actors and the uninspired director are hidden from view, which is a sound idea, but it inevitably results in an unsurprising film wading through various tropes and clichés. But I dare to say that cinematographic delights were never in the plans, as this film is destined to be a vehicle to boost the momentum of Ted DiBiase jr., the wrestler, not the actor. And to everyone's pleasant surprise, The Marine 2 might just achieve it with enough entertainment for all viewers to have positive memories of the film. This is great, considering how much worse it could've been with all the ingredients involved. It has decent action, I can't recall anything cringe-worthy, and it doesn't offend. Though I usually for those yearning for wrestler-films I recommend Road House, They Live, and Predator, a single viewing of The Marine 2 does get my blessing. Not much anything, but not a waste of time, either. AND it is better than "the original" The Marine.

The Marine; part 1, released a few year ago was by the numbers,a violent explosion galore action film, that was fun, The Marine; part 2 is a better film, the script follows all the required scenes for this type film.. The reason I liked it better is simple. The actor who plays the lead, LOOKS LIKE he could be a Marine.]Ted Dibiase Jr. the son of noted wrestler acquits himself well.Like Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson & a certain governor he could have a career in action films. He definitely fits the bill, His acting should improve. Lara Cox is his wife, She is pretty BUT needs acting lessons. The film was competently directed by Roel Paine.Michael Rooker is as usual good. & heads a decent supporting cast.As I said above, this movie was released directly to DVD. Rent it, I think you all will agree, it is passable entertainment,Ratings: **1/2 (out of 4) 72 points (out of 100) IMDb 6 (out of 10))

The Marine 2 actually looked pretty good from the previews I saw while watching WWE shows. But the movie can't live up to the trailers at all. For starters, it's much too serious for my liking, and it didn't have the action I craved either. The original Marine was far from a great action movie, but I found it to be fairly entertaining cheese, The Marine 2 takes itself way too seriously. The Marine 2 also has the distinction of having one of the most blandest villains I have ever seen in Temuera Morrison. I don't mind straight faced Villains, but damn he played it too straight. Some decent action hits our way near the end, and I'll give Ted credit for doing his own stunts, and looking pretty cool in his fight scenes, but that's about all good I can say about it. The only 2 WWE produced films I have loved are The Condemened, and 12 rounds, The Marine wasn't bad, but the rest have been pretty crappy.Performances. Ted Dibiase has charisma, and for his 1st movie he did okay. He's not about emotion, but he does make a likable hero, he surprised me nicely. Temuera Morrison is one of the most boring villains I have ever seen. I like my villains with a personality, this guy had none. Lara Cox is pretty, and manages to play the love interest well. Michael Rooker is always a bad ass, and even in mediocre low budget films like this, he still comes through.Bottom line. I've already forgotten about The Marine 2. It's pretty boring a lot of the time, and I took it out of my DVD player, pretty unimpressed. Ted could have a future, but he better pick a better project next time.4/10
