It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

If you're looking for dumb kind of humor like in "anchorman" or "zoolander" , or any of Adam Sandlers stuff you will be disappointed - this low budget flick is completely different - kinda a gulp of fresh air I must say - it's truthful, believable and even artsy to some degree. Most of jokes are concentrated on deep sarcasm and irony and if that's your cup of tee - I think you'll love it like I did. This movie shows you that you don't need to go over the top to be funny and you don't need to follow clichés to bring up some message. Of-course, it has some pretty dumb moments by itself, but they come just at the right time and don't ruin the atmosphere at all. I'm not saying that it's a masterpiece, but I think it is at least worth checking out. I would recommend it if you have some spare time to waste.

As a TaeKwonDo black belt I was hoping for a funnier flick... but this was just so over the top. Had the language not have been so bad it would have been tolerable. I don't know why they thought it was necessary to have so much foul language in the film when a curse word or two would have been enough to convey the scene. The plot was OK but it could have been so much better. I thought it could have been funny but it just wasn't. I was actually impressed though that the techniques and TKD were actually very good for a movie about TKD. Given the detail given to accuracy of forms and verbiage I hated to see punches to the head in the film.By the way: "Tae" means "foot" or "to strike with the feet". "Kwon" means "hand", or "to strike with the hand". "Do" means discipline, art, or way. Hence TaeKwonDo (foot-hand-way) means literally "the art of the feet and the hands" or "the art of kicking and punching". Different schools and/or styles may impose different variations on the formal definition however.

The first act and most of the second are squeamish inducing, unless you find jokes that seem to imply deviant juvenile sex acts humorous. just one weird awkward scene after making me wonder why someone would think this is a good idea to film. I normally would turn something this stupid off, but I was a captured audience. **mild spoiler** Then they go to 'The Truck's' demo in the second act. At the end of Act 2 the movie takes off and is pretty funny trough the end, with a solid plot developing, sort of. I wouldn't watch this again. FYI I love Ricky Gervais and the BBD Office, so I get the self deprecating, awkward but relatable boss guy who takes himself too seriously, etc. but this attempt to that end is lost somehow, as Mr Simmons character isn't mostly harmless like David Brent. in fact he and his friend come off like possible predators.
