Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

A specialist carrier is hired to deliver a mysterious case to the underworld's most dangerous hit-man. Is really disappointing to know that a man like Jeffrey Dean Morgan a man who starred in films such as Watchmen chose to do this film plus why is Mickey Rourke in here? and why is he trying to become Elvis? It makes no sense at all and sure maybe some actors are indeed trying such as Morgan himself but the overall film is very choppy and dumb looking and it's really annoying most of the time but anyways if you like action movies of this kind you might enjoy this but for everyone else stay away. I'll give The Courier an 3.0/10

I watched this because I personally..and I do mean personally don't like JDM. Also, He dies is killed off or gets his butt kicked in everything he does. However he did well in this. I did not like the whole plot. the ending was not well thought out. What I noticed about JDM in the movie is whomever took care of him...look up the word continuity. He looks better in the same shot three times. I didn't even notice Mickey Roarke at all. Lil Taylor always a joy to see as she is amazing but was wasted in this film as was Miguel Ferrer. Thewoman they cast Josie. WHY? ZERO chemistry. zip. And she's too young At least she looks it. She looks like a over mid life crisis. its not believable.l When someone is that much younger or looks that much younger..it looks stupid. Shes a pointless character.Basically cant add any spoiler because it didn't make much sense. I wouldn't call it boring. Pushing 50 JDM No spring chicken so kudos for that. Very physical role. He carried the whole film himself. though it also seems a little too much he can hack into anything faster than NCIS's McGee. And Mcguyer himself out of anything. Still doesn't possess the knowledge to not use super glue and maybe purchase a band aide But the concept and film itself...not good. Really stupid. Sorry. I did like him in this. And pretty much only him Totally forgettable. If you like him..watch it. I did out of shear curiosity. But was disappointed because it was so ridiculous. Did he read this before he took it? Its not good. He's good. But the movie itself is not good. which it too bad because there were some really fine actors in there. Just really bad writing and a few misplaced characters. Morgan did carry this whole horrible movie alone and did well. But never should have taken it. Open ending with no resolution. this got so bad I ended up shutting off the volume at the end. I only gave it as high as a four instead of a two because Morgan did the best with what he had which was horrible. Coming from someone who is not a fan..i mean it. He did great. The whole Elvis thing was beyond stupid. Suspension of disbelief? I can't believe I took two hours out of my life to watch this

As a fan of 'the transporter', I looked forward to this, because it's 'the courier'...which means basically the same. Only this time, not so much with cars. The movie started out great, getting to know the courier and his type of work, just finishing a job. He is then forced into his next job, which is a bit out of his comfort zone - making an unknown delivery to an unfindable crime lord - played by Mickey Rourke! The premise allowed for so much, I was genuinely excited by now - but I soon got disappointed. As a whole, the delivered briefcase, the job, and the impossible plot made no sense. All the obligatory elements in the movie viewed apart - the sidekicks, the stolen airplane, the torture, the assassins, the bugged apartments, the murders, the arrests, anagrams, and much more... - had a feel of pointlessness and irrelevance to it, as if someone just grabbed some spy story ingredients and threw them together. Our courier stumbles through his unlikely adventure to complete his job and gets, true to the movie, an ironic surprise ending that made no sense. A total let-down.

This movie certainly had style. It seemed to be directed well. Editing was crisp enough and on the surface it looked pretty interesting. Cinematography was basically very good and quite inventive with a lot of action. But the whole package was a mile wide and an inch deep because the screenplay was a muddled mess, the storyline was laughably inane. Mickey Rourke and Lili Taylor, two actors who can really deliver the goods, were incredibly wasted and about a third of the way into it you realized it was going to be all style and no substance, and that was when I just stopped caring. A clue as to what happened comes when the credits roll. Producers, co producers, associate producers, executive producers galore. Too many cooks in the kitchen destroyed the soup. I've never quite seen a movie like this that had promise and so much energy put into production, but ultimately fell flat on it's face. The first movie that I've seen where I'm completely at a loss as how to rate.
