Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

Though this movie gets immediately into the plot, it moves rather leisurely after that. The first scene, very obviously a painting, shows this is London. There's nothing to set up the premise except that Storage 224 is somewhere on the outskirts, and a plane has crashed in the city cutting off power.Cue the ominous music.Once we get all the characters introduced and the dialogue out of the way, what action there is starts and it consists mostly of crawling through ducts into various units. There's a smart bit in which they break into another unit looking for weapons and find children's toys and the monster is distracted by an animated toy dog which barks and walks. The dog is used in another interesting way later on.There's a surprisingly lack of gore and the "monster" isn't particularly horrendous in comparison to some. We've seen those interlocking jaws many times before. This story's more about the character and ingenuity of those locked inside the building. It's well acted after the required introduction of the characters is done, and there are some familiar faces...Noel Clarke, who stars and produced, was in some Dr. Who seasons, Colin O'Donoghue has played "Captain Hook" on Once Upon a Time for several seasons. This is an enjoyable film which won't give you nightmares but might evoke a few discussions about some of the characters and scenes. Just don't expect "Alien" or "Predator" or anything of that grandiose ilk and you'll be fine.An entertaining movie which seems shorter than it actually is, and is fairly mild as this genre goes, it has the feel of a TV pilot or first episode of a series, kind of expository in nature, as if there should be more to come.

I saw the trailer by chance and decided to see this movie with some good expectations. The acting seemed to be not bad and for the first 30 minutes I found myself thinking that this movie was a lucky discovery. Unfortunately the promises made by a well shoot trailer and by some good scene at the beginning are not followed by an adequate development. In my opinion this movie falls deeply around minute 40, from that moment on it reveals some major script problem, it is not clear whether the movie wants to make you laugh or thrill, and unfortunately it fails both. Another black mark consists of the music, which is almost always inappropriate and contributes in letting the premises of the trailer down.

This is a British horror thriller with a few laughs thrown in. Noel Clarke turns his idea into a screenplay and stars as a jilted lover on his way to retrieve personal belongings from an underground storage facility. A military plane crashes in the heart of London, and due to the highly secretive cargo strewn about there is a city lock-down. When Clarke and his best friend finds his storage vault, he discovers his ex there with a couple of her friends sorting out her personal keepsakes. The whole underground facility locks shut when the power goes out. Now you have these people arguing with each other and oh yes, it becomes obvious that there is a mysterious creature trapped with them...and it likes to make a bloody mess out of anyone it finds. Now, there is something to look forward to.Typical sequences to thrill and chill. The argumentative relationship drama is a definite drag. Of course, when you finally get to see full glimpses of the alien creature...you know there is something to really be afraid of. It may have been too good to be wasted in this flick. Scenery couldn't have cost much. Acting a bit over the top and it seemed like every sentence had to feature "that certain F" word. But when you slap everything together, STORAGE 24 really could have been a whole lot worse. Find it in a marked down bin, it is worthwhile.Rounding out the cast: Colin O'Donoghue, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Jamie Thomas King, Ned Dennehy, Alex Price and the easy to look at Laura Haddock.

Storage 24 is 87 minutes long and Rated R. It was released in 2012, and is an U.K. Horror film. It was directed Johannas Roberts, and co written by Noel Clark, Davie Fairbanks and Marc Small. storage 24Okay. So in this movie a plane crashes, and a mass of black SUV's converge. They must by government vehicles, or merely lead viewers to believe as much. Though no real government agent or military personnel are ever really anywhere -- it is clear that precious (dangerous) cargo was on the plane, and is now loose in London; at a storage facility, Storage 24 to be exact.Aside from an alien creature that begins to crush and eat people immediately, there is one other story line. Charlie (Noel Clark) and Mark (Colin O'Donoghue) are headed to Storage 24. Charlie's girlfriend, Shelley (Antonia Campbell-Hughes) dumped him. Since they lived together, Charlie wants to grab his items out of storage. He is distraught about the break-up and Mark, his best friend, is trying to get him through the mess. At Storage 24, there are some mechanical issues. An electrician (or engineer as he must be called in the U.K.) is working on the lights, the elevators and all with mild to moderate success. However, buried in the bowels of the facility is Shelley and her friends, also gathering personal belongings from the shared storage unit. Of course it is awkward and silently confrontational when Charlie and Shelley and Mark and Shelley's friends are all in the storage unit together. But awkward is better than dead. (Unless you are still watching the movie. Because then it is debatable). While the actual effects used to create the creature escaped from the crashed plane are pretty good -- the rest of the movie -- when all of the "action" starts . . . is when I started playing with my phone.Colin O'Donoghue is too cool for school. His performance is so over the top, and his character so one dimensional I was bored with him. Bored. There are some plot twists that happen just prior to the monster attacking that made me go, Hey Now!!! But then, I thought about it -- and while things like what happened, happens, it didn't feel plausible. Anyway, Noel Clark was good. His performance was okay, and Campbell- Hughes was cute. The other actors, there are like four more? Five? I guess they were okay.Thing is -- there was no sense of urgency. Some of the conversations that took place in the midst of a terrible alien ripping apart people made no sense. I mean, sure they have things to discuss, but in the heat of a the chase (no real heat, slightly warm, maybe) it is not the time.Okay. Monster in a crate is freed when a plane crashes. It terrorizes roughly 4 people in the mechanically and electronically broken storage facility. With sub-par performances and limp dialogue (after the "action" starts, anyway), you begin not to care if those in danger survive. At least I did not. I'm going to have to give Storage 24 just 4 out of 10 Stars.Phillip Tomasso Zombie Novelist of The Vaccination Trilogy http://www.philliptomasso.com/
