Stephen Traxler's "Slithis" somewhat reminded me "Humanoids from the Deep".A gill-man body is made from radioactive mud. This strange monster is butchering dogs and people in Venice,Los Angeles. The police is not helpful in solving the case claiming that the murders are the work of Mansonesque cult."Slithis" is an enjoyable monster movie, but it can be extremely dull is spots. There is not enough Slithis attacks in the movie. There is very little going on in the first hour of "Spawn of the Slithis" and I was bored. However the monster suit is excellent and it should be shown more often. The acting is terrible with vapid performances of an entire cast, but "Spawn of the Slithis" doesn't deserve its current low rating. That's why I am gonna give it 7 out of 10.

I won't go into any other mentioned details. But typical of the time period, the death scenes were sexist. Meaning to say, in one scene a young couple are attacked in a house boat. The guy is quickly and cleanly killed and that's it for him. The girls death, however was nothing less than a rape scene in slow motion, as the monster rips her clothes off a garment at a time and casually slurps his leech-like mouth on the exposed body part while she screams while kicking her black-leather booted legs helplessly in the air. We even see her breasts exposed in one slashing, yet they are not cut by his claws...but are slurped on rather noisily. Uh, but being a guy myself, I'm not really complaining...hee hee hee!

The final word in low cost production values - this 'film' is extraordinarily utilitarian in every aspect, from sets (an industrial park wharf) to the community college outreach theater cast, it has it all!! My only complaint is that they wasted all of that good COLOR film to make it (it sort of defeats the "film I made with my bottle return money" feel of the whole enterprise.

This movie is basically something you want to avoid.Unless you're a die hard cheap horror fan.And event then the movie is still not enjoyable. The film is as one would expect overloaded with bad acting, ridiculous scientific explanations, and annoying stereotypes. Its a good film to bypass.Instead see 'They Bite' or 'Humanoids from the Deep'.
