Best movie of this year hands down!
... View MoreVery disappointing...
... View MoreI cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
... View MoreIt was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
... View MoreLiam Neeson, starring in his his now standard turn of several similar action thrillers. A man with a past given a chance to redeem himself with judicious amounts of crowd-pleasing violence. Perhaps it's unfair to say the Northern Irish actor could phone in this performance from anywhere in the world, as he does it so well, but one can understand those that criticize the actor for repeating himself, with the inevitable diminishing effect at the box office.Run All Night deserves to be seen as more than just another Liam Neeson early-year actioner. It's a nasty movie with great pace and a strong spine thanks to those two prolific leads. Although it does have some flaws and may drag in between scenes, though as an action thriller it provides the necessary thrills and interest for the viewers.
... View More"Danny Maguire" (Boyd Holbrook) is the impetuous son of a mob boss who wants to show his father "Shawn Maguire" (Ed Harris) his ability to assume an increasing role in the business. So one day he makes a deal with an Albanian drug cartel by guaranteeing them his father's resources in exchange for some money. However, when his father refuses to do business with them this leaves Danny in a bind and rather than return the money decides to kill the Albanian negotiators instead. Unfortunately, Danny is spotted by a young man named "Mike Conlon" (Joel Kinnaman) and rather than having any witnesses decides to kill him as well. What Danny doesn't count on is Mike's father--and infamous mob hit man-- "Jimmy Conlon" (Liam Neeson) showing up during the process. Within seconds Danny is killed and this leaves both Jimmy and Mike at odds with Shawn who now swears revenge on both of them. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a pretty good action-packed movie which greatly benefited by the presence of Liam Neeson and Ed Harris. Although the ending was a bit clichéd I still enjoyed it and I have rated this film accordingly. Slightly above average.
... View MoreWhen I sit down to watch Run All Night, I don't expected so much. In the last 10 years, we got enough Liam Neeson action film, such as the Taken-trilogy, Unknown and A Walk Among Tombstones. The action is non-stop and entertaining. There're only just a little drama, but it's enough. Although, I think the relationship between Liam Neeson and his son, played by Joel Kinnaman isn't shown as deeply as it had to be.The acting and the direction are also good. The editing and the cinematography are amazing, especially in the ending. There're some little problems with the script, but if you want to see an action movie, it's okay. This film is definitely worth a watch. I hope Neeson will star in films at least as good as this.8/10
... View MoreI settled on 'Run All Night' as a late night movie when I was pretty exhausted and not looking for something too complicated and it was absolutely perfect for it! Solid action, and a story line with reasonable depth make it an easy watch and the scenes between Liam Neeson and Ed Harris are seriously enjoyable. I thought Joel Kinnaman overdid his role slightly and as the movie progressed it did tend to slide towards the ridiculous, as many action movies do. Common, in particular, started out quite menacing but his final scenes were almost laughably predictable. The movie is all about action and entertainment - but there is a good story line underneath that gives it a little more weight than you might expect. Unfortunately it is pretty predictable, but worth a watch.
