This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

A great start, but moves into a boring, predictable poorly scripted, poorly acted mess. The reactions of the people are realistic for the most part, it's the science behind the whole premise that is bad. Dirty chemical bombs? Biological bombs? Dirty bombs are radioactive waste spread by explosion. Chemical and Biological agents would be hurt by explosions not spread. For a low budget movie the effects of the start are good. The acting and realism of the character's actions are good, but then it all goes down hill very rapidly. I have a hard time believing that other reviewers were actually scared by this movie. It enters a surreal, 'twilight zone' predictable last half, which wouldn't be so bad if it was trying for realism. Without spoiling things, I figured out the 'surprise' ending half way through the movie, or maybe sooner than that... I suppose people that like this sort of thing would appreciate the movie more than I did, but the flaws ruined it for me... I can't really fault the bad script, bad acting, since it was such a low budget attempt, but just too many logical unrealistic errors...

This movies has stayed with me since it's debut....it is always listed in my Top 10 and left me wondering what I would do in situations such as this more times than once. You would like to think you know yourself and what type of people we share our lives, our homes, neighborhoods and beds with....when it all comes down to it I don't think any of us can tell 100% what we would actually do in this situation unless we were dealing with it head on ourselves....this movie also makes it extremely clear that we don't always need all of the big budget explosions to be able to have an amazing movie...If it were up to me this movie would find it's way into every English class available!

****SPOILER ALERT**** Let me start off by saying that I have never written a review for a movie: this one was so far flung from reality that I couldn't keep from doing so. In this day and age of terrorism, many seem to feel that this is both a realistic and plausible storyline. Many in this day and age are naïve. For those, this movie rates above 5 stars; for those with any clue, this movie doesn't even rate.A high yield explosion that is considered "dirty" would contain radiological material, though a layman (or the media) may reference, albeit mistakenly, a contaminated explosive as a "dirty bomb." If a bomb is "dirty" due to a chemical or biological agent, the chemical or biological agent would be quickly eliminated as a result of the heat and blast of the explosion, especially explosions of the magnitude indicated in this movie. Case in point, the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which comprised 15,000 pounds of explosive, was laced with cyanide (a chemical agent). The reason this was of little concern is that the cyanide was destroyed upon detonation. At ABSOLUTE best, there may be some residual contamination in the immediate area (as seen with chlorine laced IEDs in Iraq), but that would be highly limited in effect.Furthermore, the ash created from these explosions seems equitable to that of a volcano, not several explosions. As little Timmy is watching at the fence, it's hard to imagine how so much ash could blanket the city and the surrounding communities. Mount St. Helens, yes; several large explosions in LA, not so much. Before you throw out, "what about the WTC in 2001?" That was primarily dust and debris not ash from fire. Oh, btw, the ash is contaminated? This isn't nuclear fallout, after-all. Although, that is probably the only WMD not bounced around in this movie. Speaking of the ash, it's contaminated with a biological toxin, or was it a chemical neuro-something or other? I think by the end it's some sort of toxin, but wait, toxins take less than a day to take effect when inhaled. Considering Lexi was at ground zero (remember the arm on her lap?) when she was exposed and that the concentration would have been at its greatest, Lexi wouldn't have even come close to seeing her house again, let alone hang out on the porch for 2 or 3 days. On that note, luckily they shipped the meds USPS Priority. USPS? Really? I'll leave the ending alone. For those that know better, yet still feel this movie will at least prove entertaining, please don't.

Thanks, Fox for cancelling 24. This is what you get. You'll see how much we appreciate Jack as he would've absolutely adverted this movie's catastrophe. If they hadn't cancelled 24, I would've just assumed this was one of Jack's day off.Right at Your Door tells the story of several dirty bombs going off in downtown LA causing all kinds of havoc, sickness, and chaos it caused. But more directed towards a married couple, one stay at home male and his female counterpart who supports the (new) household. In fact, she's on her way to work when the bombs go off and she lands directly in the middle one of the dirty bombs. The male half, Brad (played wonderfully by Cochrane) goes after her, but is forced back home and when a neighbor comes over, they're both forced to seal off the new home to avoid contamination. It's so new, no cable installed yet – so no TV on for the news, just radio. Also, the a/c's not on, so it's enormously hot. Wife Lexi, (McCormack) returns, but too late to get into the house. As much as Brad loves her – and Cochrane sincerely shows this, he still can't allow her in, unless he would just be as damned as she's turning out to be due to the infected air/bomb.The rest of the movie plays on the confusion, claustrophobic atmosphere, hopelessness and conversations between the couple through plastic. It was an interesting story, a more human approach to a huge terrorist disaster in a major city. The movie screams Independent cinema and/or the theatre. So, if that's your bag, you should see this. Even if you're not, the performances are above notch and worth your time.
