Truly Dreadful Film
... View MoreSERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
... View MoreGood start, but then it gets ruined
... View MoreAs somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
... View MoreThis movie was absolute garbage. I wanted to like it, but just couldn't. I thought Killam was pretty good in SNL, however his directorial debut was horrible. With him in the lead roll was horrible. I cringed at every joke, and was in disbelief on how bad it truly was. I give this 2 stars for two people: Bobby Moynihan, and my boy Arnold. Moynihan is great in pretty much everything, and Arnold was one of the many things it needed, and he should've been in the movie more. I purchased this movie on sale before viewing it because I'd had high hopes. After viewing however, you can expect to see a used Blu Ray copy of Killing Gunther at my garage sale.
... View MoreI watched the whole thing. Arnold has limited screen time but the whole thing is entertaining. At least it entertained me on my flight to Vegas. I mean what did you expect?
... View MoreThe phrase "labored comedy" came to mind while I suffered through Taran Killam's assassins opus "Killing Gunther," with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cobie Smulders, Allison Tolman. Admittedly, the premise had promise as the second-best assassins in the world set out to ice the greatest. They constitute quite the misfit crew. The complication is that these assassins are complete morons. A child with a water pistol could drown them! Sadly, too, star/director Taran Killam of "Saturday Night Live" fame forgot to inform his cast that they were making a serious movie. Naturally cast as the world's greatest assassin Arnold Schwarzenegger appears to have signed onto this nonsense with gleeful abandon. He is listed as an executive producer. Unfortunately, he doesn't show up until the last third of the action. Everybody apart from Schwarzenegger behave like fourth-rate comics as the parade their natural talent for idiocy. Everyone one of them should have the sign: LAUGH AT HE, taped to his and/or her backs. Mind you, nothing about this gibberish is sidesplitting. However, "Killing Gunther" boasts a twist that saves it from being complete garbage. The screwed-up, second-best assassins have hired a team of videographers at gunpoint to shoot their mission so they can prove it when they kill Gunther. Can you imagine how preposterous this idea is? Eighteenth century armies marching into battle with a band at least didn't know any better. We're talking mobile camera people surveilling our heroes as they make their moves and struggle to be stealthy about it! Most of the comedy falls flat and the cast humiliates themselves in the process. What was Killam smoking, drinking, injecting, etc., when he penned this lowest-common-denominator amusement? There isn't a single memorable gag in "Killing Gunther." Boy, did Arnold enjoy making this routine epic. If you're a Schwarzenegger fan, you're probably going to make the same mistake that I made and watch it. "Killing Gunther" has a goofy idea that might have worked in better hands.
... View MoreTo put it in a few words: stupid / useless / dull. Too bad for Arnie. I still wait his REAL come back (Expendables and Escape Plan looked good, but...). I give it 4 only for those 15-20' with Arnie
