Monty Python and the Holy Grail Trailers

King Arthur, accompanied by his squire, recruits his Knights of the Round Table, including Sir Bedevere the Wise, Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot and Sir Galahad the Pure. On the way, Arthur battles the Black Knight who, despite having had all his limbs chopped off, insists he can still fight. They reach Camelot, but Arthur decides not to enter, as "it is a silly place".

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

The saga of King Arthur and his knight companions is one the best know mythic cycles around the world. The Arthurian Cycle is for many people the traditional image of the chivalry world, where proud knight would go around the land seeking to defend the righteous, slay some dragons and save beautiful maidens in the name of a good/righteous king. But the most famous quest of this cycle is perhaps also one of the most unknown, as the greatest quest that the Round Table took part was the quest for the Holy Grail, one of the three holy relics of Christianity. Is a serious tale that speaks a lot of bravery, disappointment and mostly about Christian virtue and the worth of a pious life. On this masterpiece of movie, we see a complete new view of this classical world purely with one mentality: being hilarious! From small jokes only understood by fans of the cycle to generic jokes that will make you fall on your behinds laughing. Perhaps one of the most striking features for me is the fact that it was not made by foreigner, but by the greatest British comedian group (Monty Python). They were able to break away from the local lore to a completely new and amazing perspective.

As I started my camp in Vermont, one of our counselors decided to put this movie on. I was surprised at how few people went with us to view it, as I was very curious. My family loves the Flying Circus, and for several years they have wanted me to view some of their skits. Now, what is it about this movie that makes it hold up?For characters, we have twists on Arthur's Knights of the Round Table that stem from 932 social attitudes applied to 1975. Arthur himself is a tad vain in terms of desiring the Holy Grail, all under the guise of serving God Himself. As expected in group comedies, his Knights come with specific kinks that add to, with the exception of Bevedere, the scenes focusing on them specifically. The way the characters' personalities clash, such as the Frenchman and the 3-headed giant, add more to the comedy. The actors seem to know exactly when they're following the down-to-earth style of the marches or the over-the-top style of their skits. There are several facial expressions that add to the silliness, but I feel that the choreography will be more likely in delivering laughs. The environments feel realistic for 932 outside of the 1975 policemen, although I was rather confused about how Aramaic found its way to England that early. What really makes this film stand out as funny, however, is its incredibly witty writing. Granted, British comedy in the 70s would be rather difficult for 2018 Americans to fully comprehend, but the wide array of sight gags, action, strange quotes, and behaviors are sure to at least once cause an uproar. It's occasionally complex and surreal, but this isn't really a film for children anyway. As such, it may not end up being an issue.Older families will be highly entertained by this film, while young children may be surprised by the nudity, innuendo, occasional language, and violence. It's a classic case of something that the Parental Guidelines would rate PG-DLSV; in other words, know your children before watching this with them. If they are fine with these things, then it may end up being one of the greatest live-action comedies for families. That is more than enough for me to recommend this film.

"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is indeed a classic, and they don't make comedies like this anymore!Everything here is just outlandish, and so strange that it works out greatly in a hilarious way.The characters are colorful, vibrant and full of personalities. And it is always fun to watch Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin take on all of the different characters and bring them to life on the screen."Monty Python and the Holy Grail" has a truly unique and funny storyline, and it is a very Monty Pythonesque movie indeed.This is the type of comedy movie that you can watch again and again, as it is a timeless classic.

Monty Python And The Holy GrailIt has an eerie comic tone that may not be palpable to everyone along with its way of conveying the tale, and once the audience goes past that, it would just be jibber-jabber that tickles here and there. The makers being aware of the vision throughout the course of it is what helps install these little moments that may surprise more than amuse someone. Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones have done a decent work on some of the sequences while on some of it, they seemed a bit distracted. On performance level, the actors are hilarious among the supporting cast and even cameos, that marks their impression in a finite screen time. Monty Python And The Holy Grail is a feature that takes its joke very seriously and clears out the priorities within its first few minutes but considering as a whole project, it is unfortunately forgettable.
