Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

6/5/18. If you like the High School Musical franchise, then you definitely need to bring closure with this one. Efron was a good as usual. Of course, this doesn't stand up to the iconic high school musical of all time - Grease.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year was the first of the HSM movies to be released in theaters, and I believe just that fact alone helped keep the franchise fresh and engaging. As usual, the choreographed songs/dances are very entertaining, with my personal favorites being "I Want It All" and "A Night To Remember" (the most hilarious and pretty much truthful description of the Prom ever!).Where this film surpasses its predecessors, though, is in its much more engaging, dramatic plot. Likely to suit a movie-going audience whose standards may be a bit higher than just watching the Disney Channel, HSM 3 puts all the characters in situations that stretch their acting chops more than ever before. Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) agonizes over the prospect of his future already being decided for him, Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) struggles with the thought of being so far away from Troy, and Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) begins to understand that she cannot be the reigning "school princess" forever. Though simplified to a grade-school level of understanding, those are some of the same issues that many high school seniors ponder before graduation day. Thus, as your favorite characters walk the stage in cap and gown to receive their diplomas, I can almost guarantee that, no matter what your age, you will feel at least a twinge of emotion at the thought of the HSM franchise coming to an end.Though I don't know what the future will bring for HSM, I am confident in saying that the stars present in all three films may have left on the highest possible note.

The last film in the Disney franchise was the only one that got a cinema release, that didn't really make much difference to proceedings, but it pleases the target audience, from director Kenny Ortega (Hocus Pocus). Basically Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), girlfriend Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) and the rest of the gang are spending their last year in East High School in senior year, facing graduation and parting ways. Coming to terms with all these changes, Troy wants a basketball scholarship attending at the University of New Mexico, but he has a good stage presence, and Gabrielle wants to go to do performing arts in Julliard School of Arts in New York. Spoiled, rich and shallow Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) wants recognition by becoming a leading singing star in the school's final musical show, but looks beaten by Gabrielle. Sharpay has a new sidekick to help her get what she wants in British exchange student Tiara Gold (Jemma McKenzie-Brown), and her twin brother Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) is gaining a reputation as a great choreographer. Also, Troy's best friend, basketball teammate Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu) and Gabrielle's best friend Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman) look like they are going on different paths as well. After the usual down on hopes and dreams stuff, Troy and Gabrille come back together for the final musical show, all the students get their degrees for graduation, Troy says the final goodbyes, and everyone sings the final song, "High School Musical". Also starring Olesya Rulin as Kelsi Nielsen, Chris Warren Jr. as Zeke Baylor, Bart Johnson as Coach Jack Bolton and Alyson Reed as Ms. Darbus. The songs are catchy, the choreography is actually really good, and there are bright colours all over the place, a good way for the trilogy to end and a fun musical comedy drama. Worth watching!

I am sorry to fans, but I just hate the High School Musical series. They are just so predictable and lame in my opinion. This film is no exception, in fact this is the worst of the three.I will admit I was expecting a film with a predictable plot. I didn't get that. I got a film with a non-existent plot, and even when something DID happen it was predictable and cheesy. The script doesn't fare much better, in fact it is very, very weak. The choreography is okay, but the songs and the singing are forgettable. Also this film is devoid of energy, the first two films admittedly did have some energy particularly in the choreography, but the pacing is not good here and that really brings the film down. The direction is nothing special either, while the performances including from Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens this time are bland.Overall, I don't like it, sorry. I love Disney and I like high school movies(ie. Clueless, Mean Girls) but I hate the High School Musical movies. 1/10 Bethany Cox
