This film really has it all. For some it will be gruesome and scary, for others it'll be a laugh riot. For most it will be one hell of a great time. The run time is short and sweet at 84 minutes, this accompanied by the frantic pace complete with gruesome special effects, humor and imaginative camera work ensures a very entertaining ride. All of this makes the film one of the most re-watchable I've encountered. I stuggle to name another that can match it in that regard. I've never had the pleasure of watching this film in the company of others, but I imagine this is the sort of film that a group of people can sit together and enjoy with a couple of cold ones. You don't have to worry about talking ruining the immersion or the atmosphere. This is very much a film that you sit back and enjoy, arguably the sort of film that is better in the company of others.Having a Halloween party/movie-marathon and don't want complaints of 'this is boring' or 'this isn't even scary' ? This would surely do the trick and appease most viewers. To sum this film up in one word. Fun.

1987, splatter film sequel to the 1981 movie The Evil Dead, which is also directed by Sam Raimi, and also starring Bruce Campbell. Great movie, and watch the third and final one. Don't watch the awful 2013 remake, called Evil Dead. Great movie!

Lately I've been binge watching tons of 80s horror films and this movie is by far the very best. With the first film being as terrific as it is, its no wonder fans (and Stephen King) demanded a sequel. Sam Raimi could have done what every other horror movie sequel writer does, replicate the plot of the first film and throw in some lazy jump scares, but instead Sam Raimi took what made "The Evil Dead" brilliant and added some humor (and a demonic hand!) and made a movie more iconic than its predecessor. After the very confusing flashback sequence, that makes you stop and think "is this idiot stupid enough to go back to that cabin", you are taken along on the continuing story of Ash Williams and the evil dead. The movie is not likely to keep you up at scared at night, but it will induce some mighty laughs. This horror movie sequel is as "groovy" as they come.

It's been a while since I've seen this movie as a whole. Overall, I find it wincing at times - by the fact that this is a horror movie - but still enjoyed it. I found better than the original from 1981, but even that movie's alright. The only things that may have bothered me at times were the noticeable inconsistencies, but in general - this movie is quality.
