Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

... View MoreIt’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
... View MoreThere is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
... View MoreAs someone who makes a lot of short films myself, I can say this is top notch with the budget they had to work with. As for the actual film, most films like this are documentaries, and I appreciate seeing it presented as an actual film. The documentaries exposing GMOs are great for facts, and this film manages to provide facts along with story. However, I do have a problem with the ending. I'm sorry, but no matter how you slice it I have zero sympathy for biotech CEOs, as they, in real life, don't care about their products. As someone with several pro-gmo "freinds", I can tell you they either fake support my decisions or they take a hard stance on it and refuse to look for any information, or only look at biotech funded "non-profits", the very pro-gmo US government, or universities like Cornell that receive heavy funding from biotech companies. Would give it a 10 if the CEO wasn't made into a sympathetic character, but still a great film.
... View MoreConsumed, a film by Daryl Wein and Zoe Lister-Jones stars Lister- Jones as a single mom barely holding it together as she tries find out why her son has developed mysterious symptoms. Needless to say, the cause turns out to be "GMOs" even though not a single verifiable instance of any human or animal reaction to transgenic crops has ever been reported. The film contains every single anti-GMO trope you have ever heard, all of them wrong.Wein describes his film as a "political thriller," but "science fiction" might be a better label. The trouble is that good science fiction starts with actual science and extends it plausibly. This movie starts with bad science fears and continually hits you over the head with them. There has never been any reported evidence of any ill effect on humans or animals by any bio tech crop. The idea that "GMOs" are an ingredient rather than a breeding technique pervades the movie. And the mantra that there have "never been any human tests" repeats several times. Foods are never tested on humans, (as Katiraee explains) because you cannot control a human diet the way you can control lab animals' diets. The films also claims that there are only 90 day studies done and no long term studies have been done. This contradicts the well-known study by Snell and Bernheim, which did review many long term studies and concluded the 90-day studies were indeed sufficient. And, of course, van Eenenaam and Young's billion animal retrospective feeding study clearly show that there are no long term effects on using GM versus non-GM animals feeds.
... View MoreWow, It was such an amazing and eye opening movie. After watching the movie, I cringed at the food we are eating.. I still don't understand how such an awesome movie can have 4.5/10 on IMDb.. May be Monstanto's GMO cops onto you too? To mislead people into not watching this movie? I think everyone should boycott GMO foods. That is the only way I see GMO companies go out of business. Or else they will keep screwing with all the organic food farmers until there is no trace of organic food left. I read a couple of food blogs also complaining that the movie has false information. But if 75% of the information shown in the movie translates to facts in our life, then you know you cannot doubt the rest of 25% too right? Probably GMO cops trying to discourage people from watching the movie by giving it bad reviews?
... View MoreJust about everything in this movie is totally accurate, especially the fact that in many countries it's the law to label GMO food, but not in the US. Of course the name of company is fake and a company man at the real Monsanto definitely didn't quit from learning the truth. I'm not sure about people getting rashes from GMO's but the studies with the rats having tumors half their size is real. The studies have been labeled as false because they weren't done by the all powerful corporate machine. The GMO henchmen and farmers getting sued by the company and losing everything because other GMO crops near by cross pollinated with their farms...unless they decide to use them themselves. For all of you that think this stuff is all fictional, please educate yourself by watching some documentaries on the subject. GMO OMG is probably the best one. It's done by an individual man and not funded by the corporations and there are plenty of facts along with interviews with farmers. It's on Netflix. Everyone has a right to know what we're eating.
