The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

The story proposes an interesting premise but the director is a complete and total moronic idiot. How he possibly think that while people are watching an intense fast paced movie about a mom chasing down her kidnapped child, they want to watch footage of 2 cars driving down a road for a full minute? Or want to watch the hubcaps spinning for 30 full seconds? Or think that it adds something to show the cars driving down the road at a 45 degree angle for another 30 seconds? WE GET THAT THEY ARE DRIVING OMG I just can't believe that guy go PAID to do that crap!

This movie is a clear reminder to keep your children close to you at all times! Halle Berry's terrific emoting her panic, and fear while following the kidnappers who had son....it was the most terrifying chase, while fearing for her child's welfare under the hands of the kidnappes... no matter how it seemed to other viewers, who may not have children, so wouldn't know her gut wrenching panic and fear for her kidnapped son...when you are a parent the thought or fear of this happening in this world today is just terrifying.

The movie was not too bad, but I feel like there should be more to it than car chasing and crashing.

As an undemanding thriller, I found KIDNAP a lot of fun and a lot better than the reviews I previously read led me to believe. It's one of the many interesting films that Netflix are making themselves today and in the process giving traditional Hollywood films a run for their money. The film stars Halle Berry as a determined mother who snaps into action when her child is kidnapped, forcing her into a cross-country pursuit to rescue him. The structure is a little like a modern-day DUEL, without the same kind of suspense, although there's plenty of momentum to see this one through. I found Berry's acting somewhat limited and histrionic at times, and it doesn't help that the script gives her the dumbest lines to recite, literally spoon-fed "explain the plot" moments. On the plus side, there are nice little turns for Lew Temple and Christopher Berry, both of THE WALKING DEAD, and the cinematography is quite nice, particularly in the many and varied car chase moments.
