"College Road Trip" didn't offer me anything that I thought it might have. It is pretty standard Disney fare, but it's very disappointing how little insight Disney puts into their movies. This is neither an exploration of a father-daughter relationship, nor is it a college-level comedy, nor is it an examination into a young woman as she tries to figure out how to pick the right college for her. This movie could have been any or all of the above, but it's none of it.All it is, is a very low-level family comedy. It's slapstick comedy done for no audience that I could think of and done way over-the-top that it's just painful. All of the jokes have been done before in pretty much every Disney or family comedy and wouldn't be funny to anybody nearing college age, well actually, that sentence should just finish with that it wouldn't be funny to anybody. Period. There is no audience for this corny and stale Disney comedy. "College Road Trip" doesn't offer anything real or tangible about college, or travelling on any kind of road, or about taking any kind of trip.

College Road Trip is a light-hearted movie great for family viewing. The always fun Martin Lawrence teams up with Raven-Symone, who enjoy great chemistry on screen as father and daughter. Donny Osmond provides some great laughs as well. This film is clean fun. There are no dirty jokes and the depiction of the characters is somewhat goofy and G-Rated, but this is an entertaining film. If you are looking to something to watch while hanging out in the frat house, this is probably not your choice, but a good pick for families with children. IMDb ratings have been rather unkind, my rating 6 of 10 stars.

What a very bland movie, I know it was a live-action Disney movie but by half way through the movie I just wanted to shut it off. So how come did I rate it a 6/10? The last 30 minutes of the movie (not the last fifteen but the fifteen minutes before it.) There's one sequence that will literally move you to tears. The score is amazing, the timing is just right and it'll surely make up for the dull movie. Without that sequence, I probably would've rated it a 3/10. I know they try to make it appealing to kids, but if it the movie was more serious then I say we could've had a great movie. If you're looking for a good Disney film, then I say skip it. But, if your a father to daughter(s), I say see it - a lot of fathers can relate to this (although the movie is highly over exaggerated.) For a rather dull movie, it does have a lot of heart.

Once again, Raven Symone plays the bright know it all teenager. And Martin Lawrence plays the wacky dad that gets into crazy situations in this movie. They put the pig in the movie for extra comedy. Kym Whitley actually cried in this movie! She is goofy in everything that she ever played in. And Kelly Cofield from In Living Color made a cameo as the dorm mother in the sorority house. She is the same wacky person in every movie that she's in! If you saw this movie in theaters, you missed a lot of great deleted scenes. This movie was corny just like most other Disney movies. And it had a fairy tale ending. I like how Donny Osmond's character stopped being so perky at the end of the movie when his daughter said that she was engaged!
