Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

This movie is f***ing awesome, the premise about an exterminator faces a big giant mutant spider is pretty cool. Alex the exterminator is awesome, he's funny, he knows a lot about facing bugs, him a facing a giant spider is pretty bad ass, but the spider he is facing is not normal, it's a mutant spider. The movie also make fun of clichés that happen in every creature flick, so yeah it knows it doesn't take it self seriously, over all this movie is awesome, and it's one of favorite movies of all time, so I do recommend you see this movie, the problem I have with it's a little too short, but I hope they make a sequel.

I have to say, out of 10 stars, a 7 is a good honest rating in my opinion as this was created by Mike Mendez and being the Beavis & Butthead director and storyline projector he created yet another experience on the screen which made me laugh out loud often and smile at partially funny scenes.Want a good quality comedy which is so non-serious, its a good film? See Big Assed Spider! If the title hasn't made you smile, then perhaps documentaries about watching grass grow is more exciting for you. This movie fits into the categories of films such as: Very bad things (Dark comedy), Serial Mom (Dark comedy), South Park, The movie (Comedy).

Just sit back and enjoy. Don't think, leave your brain in the cupboard and you will have your laughs now and then. This science-fiction comedy works due a few things. We do have an actually story and the acting is above mediocre. Not only that, there are serious parts involved, the army going out to destroy the spider and the funny part, a simple exterminator out to save the world with the help of his Mexican friend. The Mexican and the American alone works but both combined to rescue the world makes it even funnier. And of course when the Mexican is out for help you will have a great Mexican score. But not only that. The effects used for the spider are also above mediocre even as it is CGI. When the spider attacks and it do so in several ways, spitting acid, or making webs or just stabbing it's all dine in a rather gory way. It's not a Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010) kind of comedy but it was indeed funny. And it moves on, there's never a moment that gets boring or whatsoever. Towards the end it's a bit of King Kong (1933) homage and even that works, by then it's just a no-brainer but it do works until the end. Stay tuned when the end credits are running, the end joke and score is great.Gore 1,5/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 3/5 Story 3/5 Comedy 2,5/5

I will keep this review short but sweet. This movie was cheesy as to be expected by the title, but it was hilarious and entertaining. The acting was on point, with many funny one liners, as well as some serious lines. Several well know actors... The exterminator and his security guard side kick volunteer Jose, provide plenty of laughs. Solid family entertainment. It's a Horror – Comedy that keeps your engaged. The CGI special effects were pretty good too. When you know what to expect from Big Ass Spider you should be pleased. It is what it is. The movie is a comedy/horror, campy type movie. Lots of laughs and a few creepy startling moments as well. I recommend the movie Big Ass Spider!
