It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

When a spate of eerie murders erupts across HK two troublemaking cops are assigned to the case. Young WANG and grizzled vet HUANG who is fed up with his reckless younger partner always landing them in hot water. Reaching a dead end after discovering all the victims were former boyfriends of aspiring starlet LIU, the detectives must play a deadly game. Badges of Fury is a letdown and horrible goofy action comedy that wastes Jet Li's talent in a role that completely makes him look like a cartoon character in a movie that is beyond awful.. (0/10)

It appears China has entered the comedy spoof genre with two cops named Wang and Huang, whose English meaning they appear to be aware. The cops are after the smiley face murderer. Huang (Jet Li) is the seasoned policeman while Wang (Zhang Wen) is the rookie. The comedy was all over the place. Some of the comedy was slapstick; sometimes cartoon noises; sometime it was "Airplane" style humor: sometime it was movie spoof. They are capable at laughing at themselves by creating overt anti-gravity fighting. In one scene they come to congratulate the officers for arresting someone who pirated a movie, a serious crime in China, he said with a wink and then flashes an MIB style camera.Too much of the film is silliness that didn't translate well into western humor. I thought it was a good effort on the part of Chinese film makers and a step in the right direction.

Badges of Fury is a fun movie, even it mark as "action" and has the name of "detective" in it. This should be seen as a purely comedy film, with over the top tone and style of old 80/90's comedy films. If you didn't like those films, you won't like this one! One of the major selling point of this Movie other then it's old comedy style, is the fact this movie have a huge cast of famous (mostly)chinese stars! Most just on screen as cameo. And there is quite few funny easter eggs and references to other movies. But as with it's star cast, most of these target are Asian pop culture. If you don't follow Asian pop culture, you woun't get most of the jokes and sarcastic lines/remarks. The main cast is very good. The lady's are main source of real acting in this movie, two main male lead is more and less just there to have fun and making jokes(some land and quite few missed).Plot is actually good for this type of movie. Well, it was better then I hoped. Just remember don't take this movie too seriously, you will enjoy it just fine.

Found the movie on Netflix and was excited to watch it, after all, I was a big fan of Jet Li. Before watching it, the synopsis seemed to indicate that he was a main character in the movie, he was even on the cover of it and well.. unfortunately I do have to admit that he wasn't a really big character in here, it seems that even Michelle may have had more scenes.. it's very likely that the production wanted more viewers and so they reiterated that Jet was in the movie and kind of exaggerated his role. *sigh*The movie wad funnier than I had expected to be though and there were a few times that I was laughing out loud. However some scenes were cut really abruptly & I felt like they really really focused on the fighting scenes a lot, way too much and too long to the point where im shouting in my head "hurry up & get thid over with!" And I rarely ever do that for fight scenes. The end ended (lol) quite too abruptly and was too choppy as well.Overall some parts were hilarious with funny jokes & I enjoyed seeing Jet as a comical role. I think the biggest issue was editing/being too choppy though.
