... View MoreThis is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
... View MoreThe acting in this movie is really good.
... View MoreIt is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
... View MoreThis is a very clever short film (probably intended as a long commercial) but in hindsight, it may not have been especially effective. It's an anti-smoking film, though according to an article I just read, smoking rates in Canada (and the US for that matter) didn't appreciatively drop until the mid-1990s. Oh well, at least I had fun watching it.The film begins with a woman in her bedroom, dressed in a gown circa about 1820 (give or take). She then lights up a cigarette. Soon, a vampire comes to her and attacks her--only to succumb to the noxious effects of her smoke. It's very clever and hits home the ills of smoking but does it in a way that is funny, so it doesn't seem to heavy-handed or holier than thou.Because it's so short, it's well worth seeing. Thank you National Film Board of Canada.
