If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.

It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review

The presence of about ten scriptwriters should have warned me just how bad this remake of a '80s-era slasher would be. That, and the name of the directors, The Butcher Brothers. If that doesn't say it all then I don't know what does.APRIL FOOL'S DAY is an appalling film, so cringeworthy, so awful that I can barely believe it exists. The script is awful, mind-numbingly bad and with no discernible wit, skill or intelligence present at any spot in the narrative. The actors are equally terrible, delivering their lines in a stilted way reminiscent of automatons. Watching the end result, I can't help but liken this to a particularly poor episode of BEVERLEY HILLS 90210.Horror fans should look elsewhere, too. There's plenty of full-blooded horror on offer in cinemas today, and this is anything but. The various kill scenes are silly indeed and the movie reaches a real nadir when it comes to the big twist at the climax, which is the most ridiculous, SCOOBY DOO-type thing I've ever seen. Please, please do yourself a favour and avoid this movie like the plague.

I hadn't planned on watching, but it was a quiet Saturday night on Halloween weekend and it was a featured film on Crackle.com. I loved the original as a girl and even watched it a fairly recently with my cousin who loved it more. I never considered it a serious thriller, always a black comedy. BTW, not only was no one actually killed in the original, it was all a trial run for a mystery weekend (wholesome fun, people). This movie was a shallow, tacky, cheap rip-off of the original meets Dallas. The acting and cinematography reminded me of Skinamax late-night softcore porn, except the only topless shots were of a dancing, fat man. Most of the actors behaved like they were in a melodrama, although Senator Pete was consistently funny. I also have to assume the dog was meant to be a repetitive sight-gag, and I'm girly enough to admit that Josh Henderson with the pup gave me the giggles. On a side note, there was a shocking number of black actors used in small parts and as extras. I don't think there's any particular reason for it, but it stood out because it's rare to see that when it doesn't relate to the plot.

One year after the accidental death of pretty goody-two-shoes Milan, a group of friends find themselves targeted by a mysterious killer. You would think that, no matter how bad the film might be overall, there would be a certain level of satisfaction to be had from watching a bunch of spoilt, over-privileged, and thoroughly obnoxious, good-looking socialites being murdered; April Fool's Day '08 goes to prove otherwise. The latest dud to join a long list of recent awful horror remakes, this joyless and pointless effort from directors The Butcher Brothers (Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores) keeps the whole 'it was all an elaborate hoax' element from the original, but ditches practically everything else. The result is a dire yawn-fest that is totally scare-free, features several particularly dreadful performances from a relatively talent-free cast (Scout Taylor-Compton, please stay away from the genre in future), and finishes with a completely unbelievable denouement that should have most sane people demanding their money back from the theatre.Avoid at all costs!

I watched this movie last night and I found it to be actually pretty good.I never saw the original movie back from like 1987.The movie is about a group of people who have a party celebrating someone coming into their rich circle of friends. The female of the estate that these people are partying on wants to humiliate someone, so she has her brother slip her rohypnol (roofies) and take her to his room and attempt to sleep together. She ends up having an adverse reaction and falls off of the balcony and dies. A year later, about 6 of the people from the group (including the brother and sister) are to meet at the grave of the dead girl. They receive a note about how the dead girl wants the person who killed her to come forth. That's when hell ensues and people start dying...I thought it was a really good plot and I'll watch this movie again :)
