Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
... View MoreOne of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
... View MoreExactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
... View MoreThe storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
... View More(22%) If almost all slasher flicks are B-movies, then this is without doubt a C-movie. And this lets the audience know strait away that the quality is going to be as rock-bottom as the tiny budget will allow with super cheapo 80's synth rock from the very start. Which is at least nice of the makers to be so open about the movie's limitations so early on. The plot itself manages to be both stick thin and broken at the same time, as the reunion at the slashing end of the "story" takes place at the now derelict school. Why travel miles to have a party there? It's run-down, dirty, dark, and very likely dangerous. How stupid are these people? But then again one of the party goers gets blood on her after some guy's gut explodes for reasons not really clear (although it is the best part of the film) so she strips off and takes a bath. Have a guess if she lives or dies because of it. This really isn't worth a look except for maybe big slasher movie fans who can see past 27 year old men and women playing high school students, terrible lighting, bad writing, and awful performances.
... View MoreRoutine '80s slasher about a group of people gathering for a high school reunion and being killed off one by one. This is one of many slashers with the same premise: nerdy outcast is bullied and usually disfigured by assholes but comes back years later for revenge. The only "star" in the movie is Caroline Munro. She was 36 at the time, which makes her playing a teenager in early scenes a hoot. The production's pretty cheap but I do enjoy the location shooting, one of the primary selling points of '70s & '80s slasher films. The score is by Harry Manfredini of Friday the 13th fame. He reuses some of that memorable score here. But the best part of his new score is this Sanford & Son-ish bit of music that seems more at home in a comedy than a horror movie. It gives the movie an extra bit of quirkiness that I liked. There's also a comically bad heavy metal theme song. It's not a terrible movie of its type but very predictable. It helps that it doesn't take itself seriously.
... View MoreMarty Rantzen (Simon Scuddamore) is a nerdy high school student who is frequently tormented by his peers. One day the bullies go too far while playing a prank on Marty, and he becomes injured and subsequently hospitalized. Poor Marty was badly disfigured from the accident they caused and was never the same after that. Ten years later, everyone involved attends their high school reunion and, suspiciously, it seems as if they were the only ones invited. The school has since become abandoned and is now quite a creepy place, especially at night. When the former bullies are killed off one by one by a creep wearing a jester costume and mask, they realize that Marty Rantzen is back for revenge! God bless the 80's! They sure don't make them like this anymore and that's a shame because films like this have resulted in some great times for yours truly. I have always loved revenge movies, especially ones that involve an outcast getting even with those who wronged him. Put that formula into a slasher format and you end up with this awesome film. There are a few flaws here, however. Aside from some minor things like the actors in the beginning looking way too old to be in high school, throughout the film I kept wondering why no one tried to leave when the murders first started. There's a vengeful killer on the loose, get the hell out! The filmmakers should have included a better reason why they couldn't escape. I also despised the ending, which was simply awful in comparison to the rest of the film. I won't give it away but it nearly ruined the movie for me on the first viewing. I still love Slaughter High though, and would definitely recommend it for any slasher fan who's looking for a great time!
... View MoreA group of popular students play a cruel prank on a shy nerd resulting in a terrible accident. Years later a reunion is held where each of the students face a stalker killer who may be the same nerd out for revenge...The thing about this movie is that it comes as no surprise who the killer is right from the moment we see him with his glasses on.When he is revealed, there is one kid wearing a jester mask for no reason, I wonder what he will wear at the reunion? After the accident, we cut forward to an abandoned place where these guys have been invited,a dn lots of their trinkets have been found. It's a mixed bag of kids, one is 35 and one now resides on Emmerdale. It's a fun movie though, quite gory for a movie like this, and what makes the movie more macabre is the fact that the actor who played Marty, Simon Scuddamore, took his own life soon after completing this.Acting is okay, and although the ending is bizarre (it reminded me of Thriller) it's a welcome entry into the stalk and slash genre.Hopefully this won't be remade...
