This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

Anyone who has read more than a few of my reviews will have noted that I love Neil Patrick Harris. I enjoyed watching him "Doogie Houser MD" when I was younger, and then I enjoyed his work on TV Movies such as "Not Our Son", "Sudden Fury" and "Stranger In The Family" whilst I thought he was the stand out character in "How I Met Your Mother" and one of the main reasons for the shows success. And it was based on Neil Patrick Harris appearing in this movie as the reason I watched it. I'm not a fan of Kal Pen in general, and the Howard and Kumar movies have always been something I could live without seeing. However it was on TV today, so watched it. Whilst Danny Trejo adds a bit of quality to the proceedings, the first hour or so is tough work, but then Neil Patrick Harris turns up, sings and dances up a storm, and brings some serious laugh out loud moments, however once he exits the movie again feels poorer without his presence.Truthfully without knowing Neil Patrick Harris was in it, I never would have watched it, and knowing he would be turning up was all that kept me watching.

If you loved the original you should take the night off get a little silly and watch this movie. Firsty the opening scene with Patton Oswalt as a mall Santa was hilarious. Danny Trejo is brilliant in his role as well. And of course NPH back wherever God takes him is a riot as well as the biggest sleaze in the seven seas. The plot is pretty lazy but i guess thats the general idea. The writer is Jon Hurwitz not to be confused with Mitchell Hurwitz who created Arreseted Development and is a genius sadly unlike Jon so don't expect too much there. I predicted the final moments of the film which made me laugh and explains a lot about the logistics of Christmas eve.You can see from the addition of major action sequences that the budget has been upped dramatically. This being said there are some shameful product placements but they make them fun and the 3D effects bring it all home and you can almost smell the wacky tobaccy wafting towards you.All in all a fantastic off beat Christmas/stone film and it seems there is already plans for a 4th. Im excited. You should feel these nipples. I give it a 7.1 out of 10 for a decent 3rd film especially as I feel the 2nd was average at best.

Simply put this is the best Harold and Kumar movie EVER! You will never look at Christmas the same way that Rare Exports will never have you look at Santa the same way again (even more so than the bong smoking Santa featured in the movie). This basically is the stupidest movie of last year... THANK GOODNESS (I'm an atheist - me saying Thank God is weird) this doesn't try to be any more than what it is (eg, Ted). An example of the stupidity is when Harold and Kumar imagine they're clay-mated and are being chased by a giant killer Snowman killing everything in it's path with a jolly Christmas song over the top... So if that isn't your sort of humour then please, do not watch this movie. The basic plot is that it has been 8 years since Guantanamo Bay, Harold and Kumar have stopped being friends for 2 of those years. Harold gets a package that was meant to be delivered to Harold. As Kumar gives Harold the package he opens it only to find out that it's a "joint". Harold throws it out only for it to go back in the house and burn down his Christmas-obsessed father-in-law's Christmas tree. After that just sit back, relax and let the insanity (like Ukranian gangsters, killer Waffle-bots, Giant killer snowmen and drug-addicted babies) do everything else for you.So please, don't expect anything more than what it is (my rating is based on what it is - If I believed that this is better than Stalker I'd probably kill myself) just watch it with no intellectual thought at all and you'll be fine.

but once you get to the third film in a franchise the newness has worn off, so it just isn't as good. Plus, I didn't get to see it in 3D, and it probably would have been cooler. In this movie, Harold and Kumar aren't that close any more. However, they are brought together by a gift for Harold delivered to Kumar. Things happen and Harold's Christmas tree burns down and it is very important to have one for his wife's family. So, most of the movie is about them and their adventures as they look for a replacement tree. Drugs are involved as well as the Russian mob, and of course, Neil Patrick Harris makes an appearance and it was funny. Then they through Santa in and that part was a little too silly. The claymation part was funny with the kid and squirrel.FINAL VERDICT: Fans of the franchise should like this, it just isn't original any more.
