A Disappointing Continuation

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

As a cancer survivor, I must say that this is one of the worst films that I have watched! The lead character goes through chemo like it's a minor cold, has a full head of hair throughout the whole film, and is incredibly active despite that fact that she is supposed to be dying of colon cancer. The lack of information regarding basic oncology is an insult to those who have had to go through various rounds of cancer treatments. It also shows how the research for the film was either totally inadequate or non existent. And just when they couldn't do any worse... she falls in love/lust with her doctor. And that has broken how many ethic codes? Pah! Cancer is no fairytale, so films that sugar coat it (like this one) really annoy me and belittle the long and painful journeys that cancer patients have fought for years.

I will be totally honest but maybe sound a bit harsh(not intended), but this has to be the worst I have cancer movies I have ever seen with the worst acting as well, Kate Hudson plays a good b**** and should stick to that role like the movie she has done Bride Wars. She did not make me feel sorry for her in this movie and this movie did not make me get teary as other " cancer" movies have. I think producers should stay away from the whole cancer movies scene as it has been done way too many times now and is getting old and people don't want to watch someone dying and in pain from cancer on a movie as I am sure nowadays they have known someone with this awful disease or whom have died, last thing we need to see is more of these movies so if you big shot producers cannot come up with something new other then the same thing then simply don't make more of the same garbage. If your a person who wants to see a movie like this then try watching, My Sisters Keeper,A Walk to Remember, or November Christmas.

I can honestly say this movie is fantastic. Kate Hudson's acting is phenomenal and all the supporting roles are fantastic. This movie has just about everything. Yes she is dying, but there is some comedic relief because she is a very sarcastic, witty character. The way the movie is made it really gets into your heart and want to help Marly. One minute you can be in love with their relationship and the next be sobbing your eyes out. I am a person who doesn't cry during movies and I was BALLING in this movie. I have no idea why, but the relationship Marly and Jullian have makes me feel so sad that she is dying. I recommend this movie for teens and adults. Not much of a "family" movie I would think but that depends on your family. Just try and watch it and if you don't like it don't continue. It is on Netflix available for free. Honestly, it has been on my recommended list for such a long time and I never considered watching it until tonight and I am so glad I did!!

if you want an hour and thirty minutes plus movie of overly emotional sentimental teary eyed one whole box of tissues movie - this is it! a mawkish story told in just the worst acting from start to finish.there is only one good thing i can say about this movie - it's photographed beautifully with colorful sets, grand effects, and nice music. but that is it! certainly the director didn't expect anyone to believe the plight of the leading role. she never looks ill or dissipated from the 'radical medical treatment' she received.no, no, no! what a waste of time. this melodrama would have been more suited to some past decade when people expected this role playing called 'entertainment'.ugh!
